I'm sure they will find a spot for him. Did this last year as a 20yr old in a stacked Geelong midfield. Kids got some talent if he gets consistent AFL footy and a set position in a side he'll be an absolute jet. View attachment 998540

Small sample size I know, but I like the fact he laid 7 and 6 tackles in the games when he had his least disposals. I really rate that in a player, can't get hold of the pill, make an impact on the game in other ways and a lot of time thats just a mindset.

Yeah, but he only managed 2 games this year without Tim Kelly.

Find a spot... where? We can get him for depth but how is that going to improve his position from where he was at Geelong?

A starting point might be to look at the starting 22 in the final round of 2020 and acknowledge a few wont be there next year.

A pointless trade proposal.

Rooboys Rool has stirred from his lumber
Y'know, just because something is true doesn't mean it needs to be said.

Not to mention that I don't usually sleep on a plank of wood. ;)

I'm not crazy about Constable but surely this year showed us that we need some more insurance in there. Plus all the times he has been effectively tagged.

Dom Tyson was supposed to be there for that.....anyone ITK have any clue if he's likely to get back on the park in 21?

Can't believe there are people in here devaluing Aaron Edwards kicking 100 goals in a season for West Coast

Anyone actually hear this, really interested in the specifics? Brown is arguably the fittest key forward around...

I agree with you, Jed is certainly fourth in the pecking order. Equally, there is something to be said about having a good rotation of players through the centre circle.

Used to pull my hair out at Brad putting the same three in there at the start of quarters and after every goal.

If the Constable news is true, I wouldn't mind seeing:
- A Rotation: Cunners, Jed, Jy
- B Rotation: LDU, Constable, Bonar

B Rotation has a heap of chemistry from their Haileybury days and I am bullish on Bonar (acknowledge that this is slightly unpopular).

Not to mention that after centre bounces, you see a heap more people around the ball for clearances anyway.

I should also highlight that this is partly why I think we could afford to be more aggressive with moving on someone like Dumont.

Yeah I reckon mids need to be able to hit the scoreboard in this day and age, and not only just while resting forward.

It is if he is slow.
A kicked ball (and a ben cunnington handpass) travels faster than Usain Bolt,,,,, having clean disposal, being able to hit targets in my view should outweigh leg speed.

On a prospective Taz trade I agree with the line of thought that if you're the list management team you would consider a deal. Once again, he's sacrificing his game for the development of the youth and nearing the end of his career. A lot to weigh up if you remove emotion from it. Do we expect to be challenging while he's still playing at a high level? Would we actually be hindering the development of Mckay etc by moving Taz on? Would it be too much on and off field leadership to lose?

Personally, from my seat in the stands, with Higgins supposedly one and a half feet out the door I don't think I would even be asking Taz his thoughts on the matter (unless perhaps the deal was stupid good, which a late first is not). Leadership and the ability to set a standard are important and you can't risk doing a Melbourne by getting rid of too much at once. I think he's also key for Mckay's development, at least for another year. No shame in us onlookers discussing the prospect though.

That's only the offensive half of the equation though, what about when you don't have ball in hand?

Alright, sounds more like "I like the sound of my offer from you, what would you want my preseason break fitness regime to look like" more than anything else.

Probably to do with his strength in the contest.
Watch him come back in 2021 fully ripped and bulging with muscles.
Makes you wonder what our strength and conditioning guys were doing the last few years.
Maybe they have a few vials of AOD left over that they might be able to slip into his vegie burgers.
