Brown is a fantastic player, scores goals and runs hard every game. Sad to see him go.
If we get 2 2nds out of the deal I'll learn to live with it.
2 second rounders would be fair for brown

at the moment it sounds like the offer is just a future second, with dees reluctant to part with this years second round pick

Brown also regularly roams higher up the ground....his ground covered stats are off the charts, more than our on ballers > 15km a game. I think media narrative starting to get in the way of actual empirical evidence. 2020 was an aberration in many many ways.

It all depends HOW you play him mate.

As far as Bens strengths go, he's top 3 elite in the comp, but for some clubs (example: Richmond) he's seriously limited by his weaknesses.

Yeah I heard that. I would want 2 picks hopefully in the 20s to be the final outcome. Worth way more than a future 2nd and I think the proposed trade I mentioned will probably happen. Just have to wait and see what they get for pruess and others before trading with North.

Got to say I’m feeling pretty upbeat about this trade period.

We will only do a pick swap if it is to our advantage, meaning we will still get the player we intended anyway and some.

Market value will dictate what we get for brown nothing more or less, the idea we have disadvantaged ourselves is absurd, do people really think that the 17 clubs are going to get together and agree not to bid on BB so one club will get him cheap.

I think there will be element of deserved good will towards the Higgins trade so by definition we won’t be rorted.
Geelong have always been pretty fair I think. I agree they wont stitch us up. I can't help thinking more than just Melbourne would be interested in Brown in a year of key forwards moving around like musical chairs. Sure he may have his heart set on going to the go dees, but if nothing else interest from another club can serve to make them pay a fair price.

"Strong and generous bid", "their offer was a fair one", "acted generously" - the media really can't help but play cheerleader for the Cats.
and *.

Seems like the cats and * are they only clubs in the comp other than the pies salary stuff ups.

[emoji23] list sizes and TPP would be handy to know before it gets any shorter

Its why I think Collingwood would not be hit too hard if they can’t get under the cap

Giants knock back offers for Cameron, Caldwell
By Jake Niall

GWS have not accepted Geelong's offer of two first-round picks for Jeremy Cameron, because the Giants to not want to give up a second-round pick.
Geelong's offer was contingent on a second-round pick coming back to the Cats along with Cameron.

Sources familiar with discussions said the Giants were still interested in acquiring a player in the trade, after the Cats ruled that Brandan Parfitt would not be part of any deal.

There is little to no chance that the Giants will retain Cameron and hold him to his contract.

He has the option of entering either the pre-season or national drafts if a trade can't be agreed.

Geelong have a strong record of getting deals done. The hold-up has been partially caused by the fact that the Cats have three first-round picks - 13, 15 and 20.

Meanwhile, Essendon have put forward a draft offer for Jye Caldwell, which the Giants have deemed inadequate.

The Giants are yet to accept an offer from Adelaide for Jackson Hately.

Is it his fault in this case though? He has gotten the best deal initially for Cox, it is Collingwood that have screwed it up.
Rama needed to read the room and realise his man might get ****ed over. Its more to do with having to take a pay cut to stay on the list and over longer years.
Yeah, he'll get paid but hell miss out on thousands now.

GWS have too many irons in the fire for 3 days.

I can see one of Cameron, Hately or Caldwell missing out and going to the PSD.

I don't know but agree should have been over him.... guessing the request for a first rder put us off.... but grabbing him in the mid, and lmac in the draft up fwd.... some good holes filled

Yeah thats the question though, should we trade our melbourne pick for him direct with GWS? It's being diluted from compo and FA picks as it is

St Kilda a destination club for what the fu**?

They've been smart by focusing purely on B-graders... they're easier to move, easier to afford and the hope is one or two improve to an A grading.
