Everybody is saying next years draft will be strong because of all the players missed this year due to lack of exposure. Everyone on this board is saying we will package up multiple picks to get the bulldogs pick. Does anyone think luff will be thinking moneyball with lots of picks in the 20’s and 30’s rather than one shot at pick 14?
Yes I like Bradys approach of "looking down his nose" at offers that we may have taken in the past....and rightly so.
I still take the view that Brady should hold back until draft night, unless the mother of all player trades is tabled.
stop your whining, look at it on the bright side, those shiney turnstiles will finally be erected at the entrance to manage the foot traffic around the coffee cart. :stein lookJesus's it's like we can't get rid of JMac!

I mean if we do get multiple picks for brown and higgins is it a good year to trade up? I feel like luff would rather have multiple shots in the 20’s - 40’sIt's a tough one because on one hand I 100% trust Brady & Luffy that they have a plan in place, but on the other hand letting the media determine our players worth is simply unacceptable and sometimes a stand needs to be taken. Especially when it is one of our best players.

Yeah I understand but my original premise was the general thought is next years draft will be strong because of players missed in this years draft. I think luff might back himself to be able to pluck some later on.26 & 33 would likely be in the 40's mate!
I'd be happy for them to pick up 14, as it puts us smack in Cox/Reid pick range.

Ok, so I walk away from the trade table for a few hours and you pr!cks have gone and re drafted JMac to the club.
On a real note I have no issues with JMac taking over a staff role as he seems to be perfectly qualified for the role.
Can only wait to see the If/Then by the Purple puss Chucker comes up with over this one.
IF North delisted Jamie Mac / THEN they have reversed their decision and re-employed him in a pivotal role that should be filled by a qualified person not a player you told you didn’t want.
Club is a shambles...

Have confirmed Ben Brownwill get a four-year deal, not three. Think he can be excellent for the Demons. Doesn’t have to be the star. Will help Weideman and Jackson develop.PLAYERCARDSTART50Ben Brown

I'm sensing an attempt at reverse psychology, and just quietly, it is sh*t house mate.
I believe they get a pick back to the value of the points left over.So regarding points: let's say a team has pick 10. A bid comes in for someone else's Academy/FS, pushing that first team's pick down to 11. If they then have a bid for an Academy/FS player come in at pick 8, and they decide to match, do they get the points to match of pick 10 (the original pick) or pick 11 (what their pick would have been after other bids)?
****. campaigners.I'll say it again.
We live in a world ladies and gentlemen where the football media rates Brown as pick 33 and Preuss as pick 31.
How does anyone with a semblance of rationale justify this???
Jesus's it's like we can't get rid of JMac!

The position you have at the time of the bid on your player. If a match comes in earlier that pushes your pick back then too bad for you.I think you've missed my point.
Let's say you start with pick 10
A bid comes in for someone else's FS player at 6, which is matched by that team. Your pick 10 is actually now going to be pick 11.
A bid comes in for your Academy player at pick 8. You choose to match. Do you match it with the points of pick 10, or do you match it with the points of pick 11? To put another way: do the points you get come from your original draft position before the draft started, or the position at which you are scheduled to draft at the time when it's time to match someone's bid?
The latter I assume. You've got the benefit of matching 8 not 7 due to the earlier bid, a contra transaction so to speak occurs with the picks you use to match.I think you've missed my point.

I think the media is only just waking up and realising that we arent in the business of gifting our best players to other clubs for the good of the game.
Who would have thought that! My goodness!
