If Preuss is worth 31 they cannot possibly be trying to give us 33 for Browny. That'd be borderline indictable levels of fraud.

It would be absurd to the point that folks shouldn't even entertain it.

If we had decided that Brown needed to be moved on, how should they have handled it?

I think that Collingwood is showing that these situations are not easy to manage well.

We could have simply offered less than the original offer (say 600k per season over 2 years), given that offer wasn't accepted in a timely manner, and then make a public statement that we have a contract dispute and while that's not resolved, Brown is free to explore his options. That way there would be a path for him to stay, even though in reality we weren't going down that path, and he wouldn't want to stay on those terms.

There is no point comparing Brown and Preuss' value. It's irrelevant.

Basic supply and demand.

GWS are desperate for a ruckman. Preuss looks like the only half decent one available. They overpay to get him to the club.

1. No one wanted Preuss at the time. No one. TAO can confirm that (as evidenced by his comments below).
2. No one knew Tyson would make Garner look like the picture of good health.
3. No one knew GWS would continue its trend of recruiting barely usable ruckmen -> Jacobs gone and a 34 year old mumford hanging by a thread. They are clearly desperate.

We no likey Preuss, we were going to pay him out, some sh*t I'd suggest had gone down. Dees offered a bloke and we accepted it. Got something for nothing. A bit like a Bangkok brothel I'd suggest!

He wasn't liked at the club, was always gone regardless.

Just for the record and it is the record.....

North were going to delist Preuss, sometimes players are de-listed even if they're seen as the second option should an injury occur to their first choice.

So when the Dees offered up Tyson North took it as a freebie, now I'm not saying we got it wrong or right, just that's what happened.
