We're just helping out Collingwood's TPP problems....

If Collingwood lose Treloar, De Goey and Stephenson in one off season. Oh boy.
Part of me wishes it was happening to * instead of the pies, then I remember Eddie McGuire exists.

For the Royal Flush, we stick a $750k contract in front of De Goey and walk him to the PSD.....

Still un-signed.

Weren't they saying he had agreed to terms on a two year deal worth 700+k a season?

Seems to me they have to offload a few (Stephenson, Phillips & Treloar) in order to afford that and Moore's contract.

Embarrassing set of circumstances for them

You should hear my Collingwood friends bagging North when I just raised the potential that he was coming to North. I could feel the tears dripping onto their phone as they were writing their anger filled messages toward me 😂

Wait. You have Collingwood friends?

Up to me I'd certainly keep him.

I still think his skills and footy nous have something to offer. I would give him a year and a full preseason before judging him. Similar to EVW, who played this year with no real fitness base behind him.

Roos not giving up on luring Stephenson

Jon Ralph
Jaidyn Stephenson’s ability to grow with North Melbourne’s exciting young group of elite players is a major pitch to the Rising Star winner as the Roos try to drag a big name out of Collingwood.

Stephenson would normally be reluctant to cross from a marquee club in premiership contention to a smaller club so far from the finals race.
But the Roos haven’t given up hope of luring Stephenson, who is owed three years of salary on over $500,000.

And Stephenson hasn’t ruled out a move to Arden Street with over a day remaining in the trade period.

Despite the Roos not having a coach and going into a rebuilding phase they are far from bereft of talent.

They are excited that the potential of Nick Larkey, Cam Zuurhar, Curtis Taylor, Tarryn Thomas, Jy Simpkin and Luke Davies-Uniacke.

Adding Stephenson to that group at a time when they are in effect buying at the bottom given his form slump would be a prudent list management decision.

He would have to be convinced the Roos could maximise his talent in a way the Pies did not this year and could make a quick bounce back rather than spend years in a massive development cycle.

Stephenson could play half forward along with the hugely talented Thomas or even move up into the wing or midfield.

The Roos are to start interviewing senior coaching candidates this week, with Pies assistant Robert Harvey one of those contenders slated to sit down with the selection committee in coming days.

Jon Ralph with a nice article painting a bright future for North.
Alright alright alright!

Again - Nothing from the club. Ralph is a prick with loads of poor form, and note the tone. Didn't cop an unwarranted pasting. GIVE THEM NOTHING

LOL! They are so far off Premiership Contention it isn't funny.

And Marquee? Don't make me laugh.

With their cap issues they will be very soon a Toothless club - which is very ironic

Some serious background checks will need to be done re Stephenson. Loved the Corr addition, the Young addition is a free hit, but this one I struggle to get behind. He’s a skinny, soft half forward who’s game has been found out at the elite level. On top of his attitude and commitment problems, I don’t see this move being a success. Hope I’m wrong.

Yeah would only take him with a nothing pick otherwise not interested.

I think the kid could thrive in a North environment where a young list of kids and new coach can build something pretty special. Hope we land him
Get him out of the Collingwood bubble. Can only be a good thing for him.

There was no knock on his toughness prior to this year. He had glandular fever and lost about 10 kegs which would make contesting against bigger bodies very difficult. You'd be crazy not to back in his talent.

It's not the first time he has written something positive in the last couple of weeks.
I think it’s fairly clear that we are using Ralph as our channel of choice to air our point of view on things - when we think it’s required. It’s been very disciplined so far though (a nice change).
