Clubs have worked out the game has gone past him. What little ground ball game and pressure game he had is virtually non-existent.
Can't wait to put a young athletic forward in that spot, will take some time but will totally change the dynamic of our forward line.

I hope Browny turns it around and has a better year but I fear its only downhill from here for him. I hope that's not the case as he's a lovely guy, but perhaps that is part of the problem, he's a little too nice and doesn't have the mongrel other key forwards have to smash packs and win strength battles.

Browns trade has to be off field. The fact we wont even contract him for a year and get a minimum top 25 pick for him next year as FA doesnt make sense. He can cover Larkey until he gets to 50 games.

Jack Higgins deal is done. St Kilda receives: Higgins, Pick 21 and a future fourth rounder. Richmond receives: Pick 17 and future 2nd rounder.

Nah. I've seen at least 5 different versions of the purported deal in the last hour, so I think some un/mis-reported extras coming our way is more likely.

I am curious as to why we needed 26 and 31 so badly that we refused to walk him to the PSD.

So far IMO we've had (i) Two Wins: Higgins & Young; (ii) One Loss: Brown

Looking at the trade period collectively, if we are able to get Stephenson in for unders and upgrade some picks, it will be a good return.

Absolutely must not overpay for Stephenson

Be glad the deal got done at all. No one else was wanting him and its a buyers market. Laugh or dont laugh all you want. Next year will tell us all whether we got screwed or offloaded him at overs not unders.

We've gone back and forth on BBB so kudos for not spinning his trade as a win.

Agree that if we're getting Stephenson we need to see it done at an equivalent valuation especially with salary dump and "issues" in consideration.

No confidence that'll be the case though..

Brown kicking 40+ goals next year sounds far more beneficial than the “deals” being bandied around at the minute.

If we are downgrading two of our picks and moving Brown on then we are a bit more gutless than I thought.
