Other thing to keep in mind is all the midfield rotations, its very handy to have a few effective up forward like Dusty/ Danger and co.
I’m happy either way. I don’t want pick 2 traded out. McDonald or Hollands are really exciting. I wish we could get Phillips too, then we could have taken McDonald without a moment of thought.

You thought the Brad Crouch saga was bad?

All of Matt Crouch, Rory Laird and Brodie Smith are free agents next year.

Adelaide will be doing exactly the same thing as they did with Brad this year to accelerate a rebuild.

Prepare for Adelaide will get pick 1,2,3,4 next year from their supporters and the SA media.

Sorry Crows, we're just going to have to accelerate our youngsters with a preseason aimed at bulk, play in 3-4 game bursts, experiment players in multiple positions. Horne is ours.

Even if we missed out on McDonald and landed Hollands, then add Horne and our mids are set for a decade. We could afford to go big fish shopping for the right forward.

North Melbourne
Who left: Shaun Higgins, Ben Brown

Who arrived: Aidan Corr, Lachie Young, Jaidyn Stephenson, Atu Bosenavulagi

2020 NAB AFL Draft picks: 2, 11, 30, 39, 71, 81

Future picks: North Melbourne gave its future fourth-round pick to Melbourne as part of the Brown trade, while in turn receiving a future fourth-round pick that is tied to Brisbane. The Kangaroos then traded that fourth-round selection to Collingwood in a deal for Stephenson and Bosenavulagi.

We say: There are two crucial aspects to North Melbourne's trade period. Yes, the Kangaroos might not have got the returns they'd have ideally liked for Higgins and Brown, but in Corr and Stephenson, in particular, the club was able to lure two players who could prove pivotal to its rebuild. They also didn't part with much either, luring Corr as a free agent and capitalising on Collingwood's problems by signing Stephenson on a cut-price deal. Young and Bosenavulagi are exciting sweeteners who will get senior opportunities next season. - Riley Beveridge

Grade: 7/10 (ranked 9th)

Hang on to your hats ladies and gentleman:

"[Michael Gleeson] The AFL are exploring the idea of holding a brief (possibly only for 24 hours) 2nd trade window before the draft in light of the soon to be announced list size and salary cap cuts "

Wtf surely not. The AFL is an absolute circus

Dodo dropped 1% of Armstrong Creek into Gill's letterbox to give him another crack at Dunkley.

How would some of the clubs that caved in the last 5 minutes be feeling? :tearsofjoy:

Ned Guy may have just collapsed and died on the knowledge he has to go through it all again in a few weeks...

This potential second trade period is one of the dumbest things to come out of AFL house in some time. With zero warning and after the trade period is already over? A few clubs would rightfully be *extremely* salty.

Wait no, failing to finalise the TPP and list sizes before the trade period was the dumbest thing they've done. This is just the chaser to that particular shot.

It's ****ing ridiculous, but it probably works for us with #2.

Especially with GC maybe eyeing it off. It means players can be included in any attempts to move up the order.

We will know the likely top 5 the night before the draft also.

7/10 is probably about right, but that ranks us 9th overall? A bit generous with the grading there for a few clubs methinks...

Just a reminder (ok i needed it too), Hollands is an absolute jet. Im reminded why i didnt care what Crows did. Key forwards are probably more risky but upside can be massive. EH has it all, sweeping handballs, strong over head, weighted kicks, goal sense, the pick up, quick hands and seemingly a monster kick if that last clip is anything to go by. Id be pissed of we traded pick 2.

Only way would be if some team offered massive overs and why would they do that? Because they think it would be worth it. We're rebuilding from the ground up, i cant see how pick 2 would be worth more to another team than it is to us.
