F***, we're gonna end up with Brayden Ham in the PSD, aren't we?
Sam Skinner as well.

They've been smart by focusing purely on B-graders... they're easier to move, easier to afford and the hope is one or two improve to an A grading.
They are going all in on that hope imo. They don't have the A graders to take that next step.

BOMBERS EYE DIFFERENT PICK FROM BLUES IN SAAD DEAL

Tom Morris reports...

Essendon has asked for Carlton’s future first round selection in return for Adam Saad as negotiations heat up between the rival clubs.

The Blues have been unwilling to budge on Pick 8 by itself, instead asking for the Dons’ future second round pick alongside Saad.

But Essendon believes its future second round pick will be enough for GWS to eventually trade Jye Caldwell, even if it comes in the last hour of the trade period. As a result, it does not want to lose it.

Essendon initially asked for players, then Pick 8 and has now marched back their expectations and will now settle for simply a future first rounder from the Blues.

What number this pick will be depends on where Carlton finishes next year. The Blues have Pick 8 due to finishing 11th in 2020, but are hopeful of challenging for the finals in 2021.

A future pick could help the Bombers satisfy the Western Bulldogs in a trade for Josh Dunkley, given the Dogs do not need early 2020 draft picks because of next generation academy prospect Jamarra Ugle-Hagan.

Do clubs really tell the media their trade plans. Really!

Dodoro has weakened.

I wonder why we didn't look harder at this one.
It would have been an upgrade on mason wood.
I wonder if his contract was the issue.

Jeez they need to shorten this period
You'll find ~7 days is normal for period.

On day one of the period clubs look to shed their fringe players (there is always womb for improvement). A lot of blood can be spilled during these periods and this can be quite painful for some. A few ovary react. Sometimes a club may look to prise a good egg but if that egg can't be fetilised by two parties it'll be absorbed back into the club ready for the next period. Sometimes a third or fourth party might be asked to help. If the good egg wants to leave it may be removed and walked to the PSD where other recipients can look to acquire it and insert it into their club wombs.

After the period is over, clubs start to build up again in prep for the big one. If they fail, the cycle begins again.

the number of high picks that Geelong have for a club in its position (i.e. regular contender /grand finalist) is ridiculous.

They lost Kelly and they screwed the Eagles to let him go.

St Kilda a destination club for what the fu**?

I think they are trying to moneyball with undervalued players but they probably don't have a high ceiling, I think it will push them up the ladder somewhat but they will probably hit the same wall we did under Brad and it becomes harder to develop kids in that environment.
