I’m sorry but Lynch and Jenkins were much more ‘than serviceable’. In fact, they were both very valuable cogs in a team that dominated the comp until GF day. Short memories in here.
We lost our last 2 games before the finals ... as well as salvaging a draw vs the Pies in Rd 20 .

Our form was patchy in the latter part of the season .

We also rested a few players in the lead up if memory serves me correctly.

I think the Bulldogs, Swans and Collingwood may all be looking to trade their first for extra points, depending where they finish. All three have first round NGAs.

I think be looking to get another player before academy pick

How? if some of those academy players are projected first round types.

If we have pick 2/3 then it is very, very unlikely adelaide will bid pick 1 on him. Match bid on Campbell with later picks.

Likely go into deficit with Gulden looking likely to be bid on anywhere from pick 20 - 50

Yeah it will be important where you guys and the other teams with higher ranking academy kids finish..If say you finished 10th and had pick 10 9, would it then be better to trade down? as it may be very very hard to trade up from there

Looking at our form and recent injuries 90% sure we will have a pick top 5 this year.

And IMO, trading down would be best for us and wear the deficit in the hopes of getting two top 10 picks.

Adelaide Crows Are A Chance Of Luring Home Young Gold Coast Jet, Says Rowey ...
As usual take with a heavy pinch of salt from Rowey

So he has 2 years left on contract as at the end of this year. I am struggling to work out how Rowey came up with the conclusion he did as there is no way GC would let him break contract unless it say involved pick 1 which we are most likely to get this year. With Rankine's injury concerns and our midfield needs, it would be a big risk to part with that pick for him and I doubt GC would even entertain anything else

Based on current ladder position, I could see the Dogs going for something like:
Pick 7 + Pick 44 <> Pick 20 + Pick 26 + future 2nd

7 is pretty much bang on the value of 20 + 26, so basically it just means the Dogs upgrading one of our 3rd rounders to a future 2nd. I would imagine we try to secure quality picks rather than quantity, as we should be targeting minimal list changes so only bring 3 live picks to the draft

As I said - depends where you finish.

If you have a pick in the top four, you're probably fine. After that, Campbell comes into the picture and it may be worth moving down.

WB should certainly trade down. If Collingwood is outside the top 15, they'd have to consider it.

FYI: I think you’ll find that Port have shifted their focus from Hately to Caldwell.

I reckon you'll find there are about 17 teams in the league who are closely monitoring Caldwell contract status.

Swans with an almost guaranteed pick 2 (no Kennedy or Heeney now) will be looking to take the best mid with that pick before having to match Campbell who is likely to be a pick 10-15 range player. No hope of getting their pick.

Bulldogs are a likely target, their first for a couple of later picks that give them significantly more points to use matching a very high bid for Ugle-Hagan.

Now that Heeney is gone for the year, Kennedy until very late in the season, Buddy still some way off, no rucks and a very young side, you may not win again this season as you've already played us!

Reckon you're almost certainly looking at pick 2 which will net you a very good player plus Campbell.

Pressure is really on us not to **** up pick 1, (thinking Jack Watts) best to bid on Ugle-Hagan to take that pressure off! And of course burn some Bulldogs picks to advance our other picks up the board

Yeah, looking like a long year. Hoping to blood some young guys to set us up.

I mean, you don't have to take Thilthorpe. Can think of a place for him to land

Ain't even a pinch of salt, just assumptions we'll throw a godfather offer at him to get him back since we don't have anyone major signed past 2021.

No sh*t.

I'll make it easier for you.

Trade 1
Gc:
Brad crouch
Crows:
Pick 2 compo

Trade 2
GC:
Pick 2 compo
Crows:
Rankine
Interesting...though I think the VFL might raise an eyebrow. I'd want to have something like their first round pick this year for it.

Crouch, 2 -> Rankine, 10
