I disagree on planning in case you don't with a team like Collingwood. You have to be planning on worst case for them. Should they have a year which is expected, they'll find a good amount of suitors for their first round pick (seeing at that point its minimizing the damage done on a Daicos bid), and really this is not the draft you want to sell your future on if you cannot get a top 3 pick.

Treloar is a big loss, and Phillip's and Stephenson are also pretty significant, especially Jaidyn seeing he had potential to really help Collingwood take the next step. Not only that, but there is a price to pay for how they treated Treloar. If there is even a grain of truth to how Bucks spoke to Treloar about the senior players not wanting him around anymore, that's got the potential to be club destroying.

Collingwood don't have to fill all spots on their list and seeing their cap issues, they won't this off-season. They might take a lot of rookie picks though.
Treloar not as good as the hype, wastes the ball and his teammates don't always pass to him.

Their midfield runs so deep they will hardly miss him, and to be honest I don't think he plays as well when Adams is playing.

Philips had been pushed out by a better player in Daicos.

Stephenson is a big one though, just strange - we don't have the full story, presumably he's been living the good life too much and hasn't focused on footy.

I think they need a big draft this year to steady the ship, and they will obviously be looking to draft in before their first next year.

Occasionally Poholke would pull down a pack grab up forward and make you think there was a player there

But these moments were few and far between. He never seemed to fully adjust to the speed of the game either ("Poholke thought he had more time there...")

Collingwood need to sell some serious hope to their members right now, 14 for Treloar was crap considering the entire deal, but upgrading that to 9 will start to make better sense for the members.

But they will have to pay up two firsts.

id rather 22 and 23 for the pies 2021\1st...

the key to that, and getting any other teams 2021/1st, is hoping that at the end of the first round of the draft there is a player that another club wanted that has slid out of the first round and the club that wants this player is desperate enough that they give up their 2021/1st for one or two of 22/23..

the pies 2021/1st especially, would be an awesome get.

Matt Crouch has signed a new deal

What percentage of Crows supporters actually wanted Brad Crouch to stay? I'm honestly curious.

I think most of us accept we got unders for him, but let's be honest now. How much of it was actually in the hope that another club would overvalue him relative to our own perception of his game, and how many of us are actually filthy or sad he'll no longer be playing for us, the way we felt when Dangerfield left?

Personally, I'm not unhappy to see him go. I feel rather relieved actually.

Yep his decision making under pressure always looked panicked so add that to not having speed and there is too much against you

Even this year we had Hartigan play out the year instead of Butts or McAsey. Mackay played 4 games ahead of Sholl. Gibbs and Mackay both played late when Hamill was playing scratch matches. Sloane hobbled around while Schoenberg was awaiting a debut. When it was a choice between Tex and Fog, it was Fog who made way.
Few reasons in all of that

Shoenberg was working on endurance
Scholl was working on competitiveness
Butts working on one on one battle skills
Hamill had concussion issues and needed rebuilding mentally and physically ( and one more concussion might have put his future in jeapordy as it would have been 3 in 10 weeks and the second one knocked him around big time )

nicks can hardly be accused of not playing youth , the whole club is aware of need to play youth now but sometimes they need grounding

an example might be Fogarty - get fit or you don’t play . Can’t reward the lack of professionalism he’s putting on table or he will never make it

Yeah, nah.

There was a group who said we should, but the majority said there was 0% chance of using the nuclear option (and other hyperbole).

Mostly people expected us to cave and hand over 23, or GWS to realise they had no hand and take a pick they wouldn't use anyway.

Definitely not everyone thought PSD would happen.

Sorry I needed to clarify, I meant everyone that mattered. 😉

Not on the deal that St Kilda offered, nor that length.

Some talk on the main board that GC will make a play for North's pick 2...

2 -> 5, 27, 37, 2021/1

The 27 and 37 are a bit irrelevant, but would you do this for pick 1?

No. Need to make the most of the choice we have. No trading 1 at all. The only trade we should look at is 9 up to 4/5

He said something like "So Ben Hollands is your dad", to which Elijah answers "Yes"...Garry Lyon was being a lazy interviewer there and didn't ask the question he wanted answered which was to talk about the influence he had on his career.

Open questions v closed questions. That's year 4 stuff.

Was even funnier when Gerard asked Gary when he was going to ask the question he just asked 30 seconds ago.

That's what the club would say, there's always a reason to keep the old guys in while injured or out of form. Endurance and competitiveness in the scratch matches, nope. One on one battle in the scratch matches when he'd debuted a couple of weeks prior, can't be learnt in the AFL, nope. Hamill was replacing Mackay until Gibbs retired, Reilly said that as plain fact, so nope. Tex looks equally as unfit as Fogarty, in fact moreso. No chase, no hustle, never any speed to the contest, no crash, no bash, Fog at least has a crack and a blow from effort. Tex just jogs around, NOPE.

It’s the youngest list in the Comp . They will all be getting their shot but they also need ro be ready or it will be like melbourne when guys like Toumpas never came on , young guys thrown to the wolfs without being near ready will be spat out of the system

Tex endurance is not the problem , he could lap Fog in a time trial . Definitely lost agility

it was the 5th or 6th youngest in 2020. Where do you get your info from? You’re being fed rubbish.
