Thought for a sec i was missing something, but it seems like Vader is a little ignorant with the current situation.
I'm not ignorant. I just don't live for AFL Playstation Trading like you & Kristof. I live in the real world.

It's mid August and his signature is still not on a new contract. There must be some crazy reason why, maybe a few 100k apart on the deal. #1. is more likely the crows could be offering unders on a short term deal to force B.Crouch to explore Free Agency and see what his market value is trying to get the best deal and situation for himself. If the head coach wants him to stay so bad why has he not signed yet? $$$$$
Maybe the fact that the AFL banned clubs from negotiating new contracts until recently, due to uncertainty caused by the COVID disruptions?

The contract freeze only ended on 21st July:

Where are we putting the tipping point on a Crouch contract?
Considering the AFL doesn't announce compo until after the transaction is complete, is there a number we're working with as the yay or nay point?
700k/5 seems to be the number most people are working with. I don't think there's many teams out there who would throw that at him. Especially given his injury issues this year.
Realistically, I'm expecting him to still be here next year, unless he flat out demands to be let go, which he hasn't done yet.

The off-field stuff is 100% the reason why he was shown the door. Yes, they wanted trade currency, due to the Pond Scum penalties. Vince made himself the obvious candidate, indeed the only candidate, by his off-field antics. It's nothing like Laird.
No, completely wrong.

There was nothing that Vince did off field that would make any club want to run him out.

He was traded for the obvious reason. He had been under delivering but still held an attraction to other clubs who knew what he could do once he was focused and motivated again.

He had trade value that was higher than what he was actually delivering on the ground.

That's the reason. The only reason. He was an asset that would benefit the club more by trading than keeping.

That's what clubs do, and you'd have to be a fool or extraordinarily naive to think anything else.

I've never seen someone spout so much ignorant shit and then insult others. You are the Donald Trump of this board, if Trump was a mid-level public servant. You think you're playing 4D chess, but you haven't even opened the box.

It wouldn't surprise me if a team payed that and front end loaded it. If Jared Polec can get 700k/5 years then B.Crouch should be able to get that as well. North had to trade for Polec as well, any team can just pay B.Crouch and give up nothing but cap space. Dion Prestia's last 2 season with the Suns weren't very good, had some injuries but the Tigers payed him 800k/5 years from memory.

At the end of the day these contract are just rumor because the AFL don't disclose players contracts unlike every other league in the world. Crows fans will only know if he his contract is going to be band 1 compo once the crows get it. I remember when the Crows and Port were after Motlop and he chose Port, people thought Geelong would get Band 3 but they got Band 2 either Port payed him 600k per year or the AFL did one of their dodgy deals so G.Ablett could get back to Geelong.

On this issue you are ignorant clearly.
What is AFL playstation trading btw, is this a new thing going on with the kids?
LOL

There's some absolute "eggspurt" Play Station traders on here that put forward some of the most ridiculous trade scenarios possible....especially regarding contracted players at both ends of their play station deals.

Are you including me in that?

What's one example?

I'm not sure why people would want fewer trade suggestions in a trade thread.

I've enjoyed those that people have posted, even the crazy ones.

I'm not sure which of mine people thought were unrealistic?

Of course, if someone had posted Wingard for Burton, a first and second you absolutely would have had the anorak brigade calling that a PlayStation trade.

Here's my crazy trade suggestion

Out: Brad Crouch, Matt Crouch, Smith, Lynch, Brown, Atkins, Hartigan, Kelly

In: Four first round picks, two second round picks

Convert some of those into 2021 picks.

Take a shit load of picks in the draft

You'll be paying big, big overs for 2021 1st round picks...and I mean big, big overs.

PlayStation trade is a way of saying the trade would work in a video game.
(which would have a points total working in the background)

E.g. a second round pick and 2 spuds add up to a gun player in points, so it would work on the old PlayStation sports games.

I remember the old football manager games where you could offer like 10 reserve players in a trade to get say Ronaldo and it was usually accepted.

I guess f/s and nga bidding and matching is similar to this.

Kornes with an article in tomorrow's paper saying how we have to put a team together for next year that can win 10 games (why?) Then says we should bring in Toby McLean, Luke Dunstan, Jack Graham and give Peter Ladhams a 5 year deal to get there. Yikes!
Hahahaha

Those names would be great for our SANFL side
