If Laird takes as a midfielder, I think the only course of action is to do all that we can to retain Laird.

If he can maintain current form, the benefit of holding Laird over Crouch's is he can play multiple roles and doesn't necessarily hog a starting midfield spot for 80%+ game time each week. He also provides far more defensive pressure than the Crouch's who went to the Dangerfield school of defensive action...

Jack Graham out of contract - very little - nothing - pick 62 or 74 if we're desperate

CCJ contracted 2021 - contracted and a list need depending if Thilthorpe is truly not our N0.1 focus- pick 42, if we desperately want him pick 27 providing we're not taking Thilthorpe.

Agreed. I like CCJ but wouldn't be forking out a heap for him. Realistically not worth a heap more than Frampton at this stage.

Graham appears to very much have reached his ceiling, which was the big concern predraft. Wouldn't be against drafting him, but again, its a later pick.

Realistically we need to be targeting guys with genuine A-Grade to Elite potential, not on filling our list with solid role players. This means focusing on getting 6-7 top 20 picks in the next 2 drafts, 3 of which ideally are in the top 5.

I wouldn't be using seconds on them, the Collingwood and Freo thirds should do. Graham isn't best 22 yet at the tigers and is out of contract, CCJ looks to be forth in line for ruck and not getting a look in with Lynch and Riewoldt up forward.

There is no end of 3rd round band. Anyway, for us end of 2nd round band or 3rd round band are pretty much the same thing.

CEY got a 3 or 4 year deal, didn’t he? I reckon there’s only a slim chance w side will give Atkins 3. Fingers crossed.

We need therefore to get one or two experienced players from elsewhere into the mix to help the kids

CCJ got injured at the wrong time and Richmond went with Chol. Balta plays at the other end of the ground and has done so for a while with the ultimate plan of him replacing Rance originally.

CCJ will be available from injury in a couple of weeks. Unless injury strikes a forward I can't see him playing until possibly round 18 against you guys. Nankervis will bump Soldo when he is fit again and Chol seems to have now locked in his spot.

Listening to Rowey and Bicks yesterday . They talked about a priority pick. Rowey saying we should go as hard as possible but it was also mentioned by Bicks the club will not request one. Rowey is a bit out there but his passion is second to none and I agree we should use anything that will get us a pick. In Bicks you can see a future board member in that everything seems too hard and don't rock the boat attitude.

like GC did with Greenwood to us as a threat so we caved for rubbish picks..AND that was after the AFL screwed us with GC getting pick 2 which pushed our pick 3 from carlton down to pick 4...oh and them getting Francou for nothing from us
