[Mismatched]

Yeah coops is onto it as usual I see. Can anyone tell me much about him? I thought he was a forward but I've since been told he was captain of Vic metro as a big bodied mid. What do you think he is worth?View attachment 939215

Pacey, athletic small forward/midfielder. Plenty of talent but has struggled for consistency through games. Shows flashes, but then goes missing. Seemed to be one who was just happy being on an AFL list, very happy to strut around with a stupid mustache and get all the tats, but doesn't appear to have ever given 100% to his footy.

I wonder how much arriving at our club whilst we were in the middle of challenging for a premiership with limited senior spots up for grabs for his first 3 years on the list may have affected his attitude. Our development during his time has hardly been stellar and the club has basically fallen apart around him.

I rate his talent highly, and was supposedly a good, dedicated kid predraft, so I'd be keen to see him get a go elsewhere, hopefully the achilles doesn't slow him down too much though.

I'd like to see us take whatever we're paying Luke Brown and use it to make an offer to Liam Baker at Richmond. He's currently rookie listed (!) and I believe is OOC. He's younger and better than Brown and like many of Richmond's fringe players you'd expect is potentially gettable.

McPherson, Hamill, Sholl can all play that position just as well as Luke is right now. Then we have Oloughlin coming through NGA next year to fit in.
Luke Brown is trad-able though.

With reports the club is supposed to be showing some interest in Jack Graham as a mature age recruit, size and all round skill wise I'd much sooner be looking down the road at the taller mid Willem Drew, seen a lot of this lad as a junior here and there's plenty to like about his skill set.

He's a contested ball winning mid that works his ass off defensively as well as offering the ability to get forward and hit the scoreboard. Hasn't really established himself down the road yet with a few injury issues intervening at the wrong times for him and lack of AFL opportunities even though he's dominated the SANFL.
Out of contract season's end and likely comes cheaper than Jack Graham and IMO offers more going forward.

I seem to remember him bobbing up in the U18 trials a fair bit. From memory he looked pretty well sized even then!

Yeah thats all well and good, but this year is the first year i've ever thought that he looks bored with that role.

Maybe its just the losing getting to him, but his body language looks different to me.

I would argue Adelaide turned Brown into a limited player.

Had it all to be a pretty good midfielder, but we settled on a nothing role. I would be comfortable trying him on ball though, there is probably enough to his game to do something there as he's a good size and has solid skills and speed.

Looks completely devoid of confidence with the ball in hand.

Probably because our defense is getting completely bombarded for 95% of the game so when he has a chance to do anything offensive he's buggered.

No doubt but they're Horsham boys, Hugh McCluggage and Willem Drew are both Warrnambool boys and played together in the same team (Ballarat Rebels) along with Jarrod and Cedric Cox. Tommy was 2 years behind them.
