You obviously know this draft talent better than I do. However, I wouldn't want to give more than a pick in 20s for either at this stage and I'm not a fan of paying a high price for two prospects bundled. As you say it won't happen anyways and my opinion is actually meaningless.

Either player may make me look silly in the coming years. Just reckon that gws pick will be situated nicely to grab a slider or trade on draft night to get another pick in next year's draft. A club could bite if they really rate some who is surprisingly on the board still. Liam Stocker trade style

Caldwell is going to be a gun... there’s little doubt in that. I’d agree that Caldwell would easily be top 10 in this years draft.

hately is gonna be at minimum a very decent player... who could end up being something far better.

the other think these two lads do provide is they are already well developed. They arent fresh draftees anymore, they’ve been in the system two years for a good club, training, learning and playing alongside tge leagues elite midfielders.

they are “plug and play” from round 1 next year..

Any draftee mids we pick up in this years draft are gonna be starting from a “point” (so to speak) thats far behind Caldwell and Hately.

i’d give up the GWS pick and a pick in the 20’s, and possibly steak knives like an Atkins type, in a heartbeat.

For example - How can Collingwood have high profile assistants such as Sanderson, Harvey, Boyd etc Sydney have Cox, Johnson etc

Yeah, I don't get the Wingard likes. He's 27, almost certainly not part of our next flag push, and he takes away development games from youngsters. If we're going to bring in a 27yo it needs to be someone who is going to set / contribute to standards and help teach/develop younger players. That ain't Chad.

It’s based on the gainS and losses the club gets via free agency. We got Eddie Betts via free agency. We also lost a free agent that year so didn’t get a compo pick as we gained Eddie

The mistake you make is thinking we're not paying guys like Hart and Clarke as much as other assistants in the league.

he had a game where he absolutely destroyed Robbie Gray as well. It’s frustrating because he’s shown (on a few occasions) that he can match it with some of the best. But more often than not, he struggles to even do the basics.

Nothing has been rumoured on this board. General consensus is that he doesnt seem like the type of player to drive standards to our youngsters. Cant see it happening unless he comes cheap.

The only position at the club he would improve is the board. That or morning radio presenter with Ditts.

Firstly, everyone is welcome as long as they don't come on this board with "Derp, you'll go 0-17...derp". It is an interesting rumour but Chads value has dropped hugely from a couple of years ago, so the only way I could see us taking him was if he was basically given away. He has sublime skills but I just don't think he gets much out of football anymore, which reflects on how you perceive him.

And quite frankly, if Clarko and the boys can't get him to get his shit together, we have no friggin hope of doing it

Wingard is only vaguely into football, has too much else on his mind like games you play on a screen not on something green.

Lazy on the track and shows spasmodic effort in games, abso'f'inglutely NOT a player you want anywhere near a rebuilding team!
