List reduction this year will be minimal. Basically rookies gone along with 2-3 from main list.

Talk is that lists will be cut to 38 + 2 (40 in total) which means approx 4-6 players per club will be jettisoned. Wouldn't be surprised to see list sizes further reduced the year after to 36 + (38 in total).

Regardless of what the reductions are, it opens up options for your club with the potential to pick up the occasional discard or trade out a senior/veteran player or two.

I think you guys need to focus hard on the draft for the next two years and only trade in players who are cheap but can have an input even if it is only for a year or two.

We need class. Brad doesn't have it. Never did. Never will. We are in a prime position here... give me pick 2 any day.

I disagree. Brad had all the talent to end up in the top 5 players in the league though his body really did end up curtailing him.

A shame really.

Pass, he's way too brittle and delicate, since 2017 he's played 13, 15 and 5 games so far this season.

Now Shane McAdam looks to be getting his game together is he really a need?

Sooner go to the draft and draft Jake Bowey and develop him expressly as a small forward, way more athletic than Fantasia IMO and one of the best marks for his size in this draft. He'll be versatile enough to play high half forward/wing with his speed and agility as required.

Kind of, we could certainly do with another small forward in our side. Plus injuries could certainly curtail both McAdam and Stengle.

We do need to add another small forward to our list this off-season. I suppose it doesn't really matter if we gamble on a mature ager who has been there done it, but can't get on the park in the last few years, or a kid with a lower pick.

The cost is the issue, both in trade and salary

I just read this on the Dons board regarding Fantasia, Its a no from me. A few years back he looked like being a genuine star small forward who could turn a game in a quarter, but all the skill in the world doesn't help when you're in the rehab group most of the time.

I'm warming to Graham at the right price. Great tackle on Naitanui and finished in front of goal. Another strong tackle and solid around the ground. Was kicking it for the throats of his forwards the other week that I was watching.

Could certainly do worse.

what’d he say...

Talking about the pick swap Freo did with Adelaide.

Saying Adelaide moved from pick 28 to 22, normally you lose out on points to move up. Currently Adelaide have moved from 28 to 22 and gained points.

Add in Freo losing out on points hurts their deficit, it may mean Adelaide's GWS pick moves up a spot partially because of this trade.

Assuming THIS is the post PD is referring to...

This is the trade for me that was just all kinds of disgusting. You normally have to pay between 20 - 50% premium in points to move up in the draft,

Adelaide are going to end up GAINING points to move up to 22. This was made worse given the fact Adelaide had like pick 40 or something at the time

There's a 140 points difference that wipes out over half the points deficit. Even the below shouldnt have been enough to make that trade

... looks to be grizzling about our trade with Freo last year.

that would have to be one of the funniest outcomes for some time..thanks Freo 🤣 🤣 :tonguewink: (And I am not unhappy Snuffaluphagus is miffed - he was quite uncomplimentary to the crows in the Brad Crouch thread)

Huh...explain it to make like I'm a 3 year old

Well, Snuff shoulda kept quiet and we wouldn't have known about it (it's like owning up to being the one who farted).

So question is why did they do it? Well, the wiki 2019 draft page indicates that straight after that trade, they traded #10, #28 and Carl2020r4 for #8 from Dees to nab Serong - they didn't want to spend their #22 to trade for pick #8.

Means their r1 pick drop is due to drafting Serong - can't really complain, I think.

So what he's saying is that Justin Reid has won another trade.

Time to sack the list manager at Freo.
Nah, they did it to draft Serong last year for a pick downgrade this year - likely worth it.

... unless they're now desperate for pick #1 to get McDonald and that ends up costing their 2020 and 2021 r1 picks.
