Whately saying reports of 5 year $750+k per season have been proven to be ridiculous and suggsts more likely $500k to $600k max over 3 years is more likely what he will have to accept.

They might be disappointed in their compensation if that is correct.
Yep I'm not sure why people want him so bad at best he pushes Rocky out the side and is more mobile but he's just as likely to be hobbling around in rehab with Burton most of the time.

Surely we lure Crouch with a heavy front loaded contract. We've been under the cap for years and have a lot of banked extra space. Load him up. $1.2 mill year 1, then pay him far less for another 3 years to balance it out, and leave us with less injury risk at the back end of the long deal.
Do whatever it takes to get him in. Our midfield still lacks that one piece to beat the best and replacing Rockliff with Crouch would be a perfect upgrade.

This isn't true. Brad wants out as he doesn't want to be part of a rebuild (throw in the way they have managed his injuries to date as well). His preference is to stay in Adelaide (the city) or move to a finals contender. Money isnt the main driving factor, however it will be the difference between an us or a Geelong.

This persistent talk of Crouch's persistent injuries is a bit of a myth. He played 20 games in 2017, he missed 2018 with a groin injury that Adelaide stuffed around with until finally putting him in for surgery in the middle of the year and he then played all 22 games in 2019 and won their best and fairest. He has had a hamstring complaint this year, but he's been no orphan in this crazy season. He will still play more games than he missed and has been a genuine catalyst for their late season wins.
He's a genuinely good AFL midfielder and well worth pursuing for the right price.

How is It a myth? You just pointed out missing out an entire year in 2018 and then the majority of 2020. He also missed the entirety of 2015.

Boak's move didn't work. Ebert's did. I reckon SPP's speed, tackling and explosiveness from the stoppage would be worth a look up forward if we have 3 other A grade inside mids, and a vacancy created by Ebert.

It’s weird, isn’t it, the amount of media and other stuff they get ( and some spouses too apparently) yet they have also used more of their salary cap than Port has.
Dusty mixed his time between mid and forward while developing, can't see why SPP's similar traits can't be developed in a similar way.
Eberts move worked in so far as it got him out of the centre where he had been invisible and a large part of why we were poor and saw him produce semi-regular decent performances. That’s not a bar to aspire to. We’ve quite a few players who could play a forward / midfield role going forward.
we’ve already seen spp up forward early this season, his pressure up there is great but he’s purely a role player there.
His time in the midfield has been where he’s really impacted and since his midfield minutes and centre bounce attendances have gone up he’s gone to another level.
shunting him back to the forward line in 2021 would be monumentally dumb.

Agree, but then dusty at 22 bears little resemblance to the current model. I beg to differ on 'monumentally stupid', but whatever, it's not a hill I'm going to die on.
