If Mihocek was with us this year Membrey would have been smoking darts and sinking pots at the surf club on game day. He's been poor most of the year.

Mihocek has kicked 20 goals in 16 matches, despite being the main target. Membrey has kicked 18 in 16 games, as the second or third target. It hasn't been Membrey's best year, but he's got more runs on the board than Mihocek, is a year younger and is an important leader for our club. I'll stick with Membrey if it's between him and Mihocek.

Re Membrey, it's also worth noting that this season is about 40% shorter than a normal season in game time. Obviously a direct correlation isn't neccesarily the way it would be, but Membrey's season probably works out to be 30 goals plus in a full season.

I can't see the Giants having any interest in facilitating a deal for a contracted Taranto. Would be ideal for us but feels like a pipe dream.

Reports in Adelaide that Clurey set to be snubbed for cats game tomorrow night....been best 22 all year, cops an injury and now cant get back in? Bit stiff. Potentially if doesn't get back in could be some resentment towards PAFC? Port seem to like giving us players who they don't value.

Disappointing to hear Jye sounds unlikely now.

A 5 year deal totalling 3m is a lot of money for someone his age who hasn’t shown a lot yet. I wouldn’t mind paying him that as from what I’ve seen I’m pretty confident he’ll be a nice player- BUT it does show that we have some very solid wiggle room in the cap to potentially attract another player with and I’m sure we’ll attract at least a couple to make our list better.

Imagine if we managed to grab a Viney or a Higgins + RCD combo or even if Taranto wants to return to VIC in the next year. Caldwell isn’t the be all and end all. Have full faith that there’s plenty of other names on the whiteboard we’ve been putting work into.

I understand when i first came on here i stated Jye was keen to come to the club, and that was certainly the case at the time as our offer far outweighed the one from GWS . But today i have been told after returning to Sydney JC has informed us this arvo of his current intentions to stay at the giants. We threw a deal at him which in totality was upwards of 3m over 5 years. Clearly a disappointing result on face value but their will be advantages down the track with that money being spent equally and efficiently on our current crop of rising stars. Retention is going to be crucial to our success in the future.
In more positive news, Benny Paton will sign his deal shortly, Higgins is firmly in play, and Lethers, Gubby and the banker are doing their best to improve the list for next year and beyond. 3 days away from our first finals win in 10 years! can't wait.

Caldwell will end up being another Laverde IMO. He'll regret doing that deal.

That's average list management from the Suns I think, unless he's coming on a very cheap contract, which I doubt. Atkins is average and takes a fair chunk out of their salary cap. They've gone to this well of getting decent midfielders before. It's come off with Greenwood who has been exellent but Atkins is just a decent winger.

Lets see when Caldwell signs his contract , very strange he hasn't signed already , he would of already of had his exit meeting.
If they are matching our contract more than Williams will be leaving GWS.
What ever happens going on last year I expect the recruiting team will deliver again.
