Brennan Cox re-signed with Fremantle.

Along with Hamling, Logue and Ryan who’s more mid sized but can take talls and definitely as a 3rd tall, I’d still be sounding out Alex Pearce to see if he wanted to come over if we end up parting with Carlisle. Re-signed last year until 2022 but apparently wasn’t happy with the management of his injury.

Payne from Brisbane looked good filling in for Andrews for a few weeks too. I think he’s out of contract?

You don't directly link a player and club like that on TV if you aren't confident that you have the information from someone very reliable.
On the contrary it’s their very job to fill airtime with whatever jargon they can . It’s never accountable . Pre game reviews, opinions on players , trades , coaching jobs . They have no idea half the time . It’s an entertainment industry.

It just doesn't seem to be the going rate for any player. Collingwood set the price with Adams and Treloar and that was considered a huge amount to pay then. Since then that's seen as the standard. I think last year we saw trade values going the other way. Good players are going a lot cheaper now.

Cutting list sizes and more movement of contracted players will adjust expectations back down IMO. Clubs seem more willing to trade. GWS look like they need a big refresh, perhaps they'll look at the list and see what they can do to make it a more balanced set up.
It is just great that our recruiters have picked the perfect piece we need , in trying to get the big fish in Taranto it could well cause Caldwell to get out of there.

2 first round picks for a player who has shown he is more than a very good player is the player we need - the inside midfielder that we have lacked.
He is the player we have been dreaming about.
But our chances of getting him are not good , but could just be putting feelers out for the future.

Taranto is better than Heeney. 100% of people who watch AFL know it
Wait, I watch AFL and believe Heeney is better so umm lets work this out

I think your percentage is wrong mate.

Just wanted to pass on some information to you guys. Forget discussing trades for any of the GWS mids. I’ve been told by an extremely reliable source at Collingwood that you guys literally have a handshake agreement with Collingwood for a trade for Trealor. They’re desperate to clear up salary cap space to target a tall forward. Also, you guys are also going hard at De Goey. And have made an offer he’s weighing up which is a hell of a lot more than what Collingwood have offered. North and Essendon have also made offers but he wants to play finals.

Will keep you updated when I hear anything else.

Just for a point of difference, I think we need a big-bodied mid - they're not that easy to find but I wouldn't be unhappy with Will Brodie. Has has some nice stats 2019 in particular and may be beneficial in protecting our other mids extending their careers.

I've been pumping his tyres, has been linked to the Dons but I haven't heard anyone linking him to us. He can play. I would see if we could get him and Fiorini cheap.

Sounds right, he's injury prone and expensive. We like those types.

I can’t handle this type of info so early in the morning.

The club has stated publicly that we are recruiting with a certain age profile in mind.

Treloar being 28 at the start of next season would not fall into that age profile.

Anyone else get the vibe the Taranto talk is just smoke and shadows behind the window to hide the fact we are landing Heeney.

Me too

The taranto thing only grew legs straight after the persistent heeney rumours surfaced.

The technique to 'leak' some other 'hot goss' to some dimwitted patsy 'matthew lloyd' is on page 1 of the textbook "How to make a smokescreen"

Make of that what you will.

But one would think - if we already have a handshake agreement with Treloar, there would be plenty of cash for the Pies to keep De Goey.

He's looking a lot like Hanners right now. He's an absolute superstar but his body has let him down and at that age he's probably not about to get back to what he was.

Unless Jeremy Cameron.

I’d have a bit more faith in Treloar than Hanners. He’s still playing great footy when he does get out there. Hanners looked absolutely cooked in his last year at the swans.

Definitely doesn’t seem the right fit for us though.

He's probably not as far gone as Hanners, but at his best he never hit those heights either.

He wouldnt do much to make our midfield less vanilla either.

Caro said we weren’t going after Crouch - too old. So it’s doubtful for me.
