I love that MG comes here and posts great news.
really appreciate it. gets the arousal levels up. But in saying that what’s the point with no further info, just gets everybody guessing and we’re all still none the wiser.
Please don’t take this as a pot shot and would love for you to post more.
Lets us know that there's something exciting to look forward to, it's like getting to see a wrapped present under the Christmas tree

Can see why the Bulldogs would want Lonie, perfect Bulldogs player, flops and throws himself forward after soft frees. Beveridge has noticed.
Will Lonie be a regular once you bring in Caldwell and Gresham , he knows even this year he was on the outer at times and I'm not even taking into account Bytel and Byrnes could well take a step up.

If he gets offered more he would have to take it.
He is currently in our best 22 but next year I doubt Kent and Lonie will be in the best 22 and you could well add Geary onto that list.
Lonie would be great depth because he is dangerous around goals.

Paton - Howard - Wilkie
Coffield - Carlisle - Long
Billings - Steele - Hill
Butler - Battle - Caldwell
Gresham
- King - Membery

Marshall / Hannerbery / Jones

Ross / Hunter Clark / Sinclair / Ryder

This team really has only one new player and I would think we will pick up a few handy players into our line up - who knows a Higgins or B.Crouch could easily be in the lineup next year.

Players like Phillips , Hind , Parker , Lonie and Kent could well be just excess next year.

Wouldn't Caldwell also be considered a fringe player?
I fully expect if we get Caldwell under Ratten he will be developed in a topline midfielder next year , I'd put money on it - knowing GWS don't want him to go and have said to have increased his offer , they know he is a jet.

Do you really think Hunter , Coffield or Paton would be getting games if we had Kelly , Taranto , Hooper , Tom Green , Greene , Williams , Ward , Ash , Hately , De Boer , Perryman , Hill , OHalloran , Coniglio or Whitfield in our team.

Link wont work for me :-(

Who is it?

Jye Bolton has won the Simpson Medal for best on ground in today's WAFL League Grand Final.

He gathered 35 Disposals.

Bolton had another fine season in the WAFL averaging 27 disposals a game.

Surely an AFL club, maybe in the premiership window or about to enter the premiership window could draft him to add to their midfield stocks?

Over to you AFL clubs !!

Hes had a good year and played very well today. Was an awesome game!

Honestly if we can get Caldwell and another young KPD that’s all we need. We did almost all of the work last off season. A free hit through free agency would be nice as well if they don’t cost too much coin.

We still have Gresh to come back who is arguably our 2nd or 3rd best mid this year with Jones, so our midfield isn’t really an issue anymore.
Although Caldwell has potential, he is still a second year player who has not proven himself. I wouldn’t put all the eggs in his basket yet. Definitely need another midfield bull who can compliment Steele. Definitely midfield is our biggest problem, we got away with it this year with Ryder tapping it down most of the time.. but we still cannot win contested ball consistently against the sides with good midfield.. Geelong, Brisbane, West Coast, Collingwood etc.

Looking at teams who spent a lot on trades - Carlton have always attracted players however a lot of there selections have far from lived up to expectations.
The McGovern selection will go down as one of the worst salary cap selection of all time - talk was he was offered 700k for the move.
Jack Martin (700k)was a good pick up , but still was not cheap and Shiel (800k)or though a good player is no superstar and also on big coin.

This deal could make Jack Martin Carlton’s highest-paid player for the next two yea

Further details have emerged around the lucrative — and massively front-ended — Carlton contract Jack Martin is set to sign, with the outgoing Sun reportedly poised to earn approximately $2 million in his first two seasons at the Blues.
After it was revealed on Monday that Martin, who’s expected to land at the Blues in the pre-season draft, would receive more than a $1 million in 2020, The Age reported on Thursday night that terms in Martin’s Carlton contract also guarantee him around $1 million in 2021.
It means Martin, according to the report, could be among the highest-paid players at Carlton over the next two AFL seasons. However as the proposed deal is a five-year contract worth around $3.1 million — potentially $3.5 million if he reaches certain incentives across the tenure — Martin will be paid significantly less money in his final three seasons.

Thank god we don't over pay for average players.
