If GWS were entertaining a trade for Taranto (which doesn't make sense) they would expect a decent player back in return, like Billings or Gresham. They'd be stupid to just accept draft picks or a player over 28.

Salary dump doesn't make sense either - there would be other players they'd let go before Taranto.

That's more Dodo style. Clubs usually don't force a player to go where they don't want to and most accept fair value.

I don't think he's on that much. Signed last year before getting the b&f. Didn't make the top 100 in the Herald Sun's top 100 paid players earlier in the year. 100th was at 550-600 a year.

Yeah you're probably right. Would also depend on the structure of contracts. If certain contracts were backloaed or at least not front loaded in the past then it could still be tight.
