Jack Payne from Brisbane is the only named mentioned that I would be remotely interested in. But he is also very speculative considering he's played 4 games and also contracted so might not even be gettable.

I'd be keen on Payne. Wouldn't want to bank on him partnering Howard though, very speculative, as you say.

Steele, Gresh, Hunter, Jones, Hanners (a bit of a ? i know) and in the scenario I was replying to Taranto.

If we could get in a Taranto, you would trade Ross if we were getting something good back.

But otherwise, we still need him. Looking at that list, we cant rely on Hanners to play more than a handful of games and I would expect he would be managed heavily throughout any season moving forward. To get the best out of Gresh, I still think he needs to spend a decent chunk of game time forward. I hope Hunter becomes a gun full time mid next year. Jones has dad a few injury worries this year so we still need good mids available if that reoccurs.

There has been talk all year about him coming to the Saints. The Bombers stuff looks pretty much like Dildo still playing games. He's still salty about their ruckman last year, offered overs for Paton too. He'd be crazy to go to Essendon, it would be like booking tickets to a resort while watching a hurricane rip through it on TV. His manager would need a new job if he was suggesting it. Most players that are there want out.

You are probably referring to the talk of us taking Caldwell at 4 rather than King are you?

If that's the case I think everyone that was against it has been proven right and there is a massive difference between taking Caldwell at 4 and getting him with pick 17 in a compromised draft.

I think injury put a lot of people off. He pretty much missed the draft year so was picked on his under 17s year where he dominated. I remember the Clay Smith comparison which was a weird one. I think he's probably more Wingard myself if you want a goal scoring mid type.

Yes That is 100% correct. We attempted to trade our future first on draft night with the Giants.

I don't remember too many being upset with us trying to do that either.

If we can get him this year we'll be glad we missed him though considering what we ended up doing the following year.

I have deliberately watched Caldwell as much as I could this year. He's not done much. Hately hasn't either but he's done some really nice passages of play that looked like he was the better player at this point to me. If you take out their junior form Hates looks closer to best 22.

Caldwell is the one GWS most wants to keep, so that tells a story.

Purple mentioned the possibility of Robbie Tarrant looking at his options. Another potential KPD option. Is pretty old though. 32 early next season.

If he leaves then North might as well close the doors. They look to have totally mismanaged their list.

The AFL must be really worried about them.

After listening to Essendon supporters’ hypothetical trades in this upcoming offseason, I know fully understand why Dodo still has a job - he’s actually the perfect manifestation of the sentiment amongst their supporters.

Heard trades like Saad to Carlton for Pick 7 + McKay.

Or Daniher to Brisbane for Rayner; never mind the fact that he’s a free agent.

Or Fantasia for Wines and a 1st round pick.

From what I’ve read ( contrary to some rumours earlier that we were shopping him around) we want to keep him and may have even offered him a contract? At a guess I’d say we wouldn’t want to go more than two. Maybe he’s looking around to see what is on offer elsewhere?
