There's a lot of players earning 750+

Crouch is a great fit for the Saints, a clear upgrade on Dunstan, but with similar limitations.
Crouch is not the messiah.
Crouch is not so damaging, nothing like Fyfe or Kelly shit he's probably not as damaging as 2015 David Armitage.
Crouch has no versatility.
He won't go forward and hit the goals often.

That's why he's not worth 750+.
But he's a great fit for our midfield.

Please be so kind as to inform Mark Riccuito... he's currently at "goth teenager" levels of angst, railing against how unfair his parents (the AFL) are being for not giving him what he (and nobody else) thinks he deserves (pick 2 for crouch).

Thought he was more having a go at the fact that the FA formula is kept a secret. Obviously so they can engineer outcomes. Which, let's be honest, is shifty as.

Should be public knowledge.

Crouch is only really a proper success if he stays fit and makes at least the AA Squad a couple of times.

But even if he doesn't get quite to that level, he could be very handy as a Stevie Powell type - hard-nosed centre-square warrior with a bit of mongrel.

I think you'll be pleasantly surprised if you're thinking a Powell type. We haven't had a gun inside mid for a looooong time. He'll win a lot of ball and allow us to play a different style of footy. We seem to play to minimise our weaknesses, this adds another area of strength we don't have. Paddy Ryder and Crouch will be a pretty exciting improvement. We won't have to work as hard to wi the ball back from the opposition clearances.

Thought he also sounded abit disrespectful towards the saints.

not sure how any club can be surprised by the club one of your players elects to go to.Speaks volumes that you blokes are in disarray and key members of your club have no clue about these things.

Very tired mowed lawns played golf
Your post just now reminded me of what a great job our returned poster Sunshine Sainter used to do during trade week (for you new posters, he is the one who did those amazingly detailed training reports from the Sunshine Coast this year - the best posts I’ve seen on here this year by some distance in my opinion).

Basically, during trade week, he would collate everything that happened during the day on our thread and regarding trades into one post, a bit like his training reports. It was always a great read and if you had a busy day at work, was your one-stop shop for information.

Not sure if he’d be interested/have the time to do it this Trade Week but it would be fantastic if he could (no pressure of course).

So are we expecting an official announcement on Caldwell’s future in the next couple days?

For those who suggested he’s waiting until after the BnF, I believe that’s on Tuesday.

But we were told it’s happening on Flamingo Thursday... maybe it can go any Thursday?

Any day now

Just looking into Crouch, he's a guy that regularly gets over 30 possessions. He also won Adelaide's b and f in 2019. Missed 2018 with a groin and a bit of this year with hamstring. When on the park he finds it and can be damaging. Looks like a good tackler. He also has huge games, has gone over 40 on a few occasions.

Seems the type of player we haven't had for years. I'm salivating at the thought of him in our midfield.

Thought he also sounded abit disrespectful towards the saints.

Last time I saw the saints play live was round 22 last year when we got done by the Blues. Bloody keen to be able to go to games again and see Ryder, Jones, Hill, Howard, Butler, King and Crouch + whoever else we bring in.
How good is is it going to be watching King bring them down from the roof at the dome.

Think you're being a bit sensitive tbh.

Don't think he was against the saints at all, just against the FA formula secrecy.

As for being in disarray, most of us are actually happy about what we're doing. Historically we're a club that never bottomed out. Always struggled to make the 8, regularly falling just short because we didn't have the quality draft picks coming in.

After Phil Walsh's death and fighting up to a GF then choking on the day, it seems like that was the mental limit for a lot of the players. At least now (albeit late), we seem to have realised the comp is structured in a way that you need to go down to come back up.

Disarray wouldn't be my choice of word.

Feels like we have a plan and most of us are happy with that. We paid players to go to other clubs so that we could purposefully rebuild.

Anyway, not out for an argument. You're getting a good one for a free hit. Be happy and enjoy the ride while you're up.

Is Johnnyrayflamingo’s intel usually solid?

He’s mentioned more announcements on the way this week I believe

Johnnyray has a 100% strikerate.

The only issue is he strikes with the scoops 10 minutes after the news has broken!

Nobody has ever seen Jonnyray and Sandra Sully in the same room before.

Make of that what you will....

Listening to the 5 minute grab on MMM SA, I think he was ok. His 'surprise' and and the some of the comments he made came across more as 'playing dumb' while trying to keep the two hosts involved in the discussion. It was pretty light hearted and there was nothing really disrespectful there.

Spotted high above our beloved home ground. Could it be an omen? 🤔

You enjoy your 5 year rebuild too.
