Tears here

Where does the rabbit hole end?
:tearsofjoy:

In all seriousness I love Johnny because he gives us so much great unintentional content. May he never stop posting here.

St Kilda defender Daniel McKenzie is the latest Saint to want to explore his trade options.
The backman has expressed his desire to seek a fresh start after failing to play a single AFL game this season.

McKenzie, 24, is contracted for two more seasons but has been encouraged to explore his options along with Luke Dunstan, Jimmy Webster and Dylan Roberton.

The Saints remain locked in talks with Adelaide about a deal for free agent Brad Crouch.

The Crows have indicated they will match a deal from St Kilda unless the Saints are prepared to pay Crouch a salary which triggers first-round compensation pick (No. 2).

The Saints do not want to pay Crouch in excess of $700,000 a season.

There is also the opportunity to agree on another trade which could mutually benefit both parties, but the Crows said they’re not interested in fringe players from St Kilda.

The Saints will lodge a bid on Friday for Crouch. Brisbane (Joe Daniher) and Geelong (Jeremy Cameron) will also nominate the star free agents.

Wait a minute what happened to Duncan Roberton? :(

I’m just going to help out poor Johnny because I actually feel bad for him.
Johnnyrayflamingo the reason everyone is laughing is you said they will only accept a second rounder as a minimum. But I think if we offered them a first rounder they’d be pretty happy with that. That’s how everyone is reading your post.

get over it everyone at least he’s not some filthy Camry campaigner trying to educate us.

DMAC is the one player that the fact he didn’t play a game this year actually boosts his chances of getting to another club.

Okie dokie, maybe we move on. Good luck Adelaide.

It's hard to say this without sounding harsh, but I'd be surprised if any club was interested in McKenzie. With his kicking and limited ability to win the footy, the only roles he can play are the primary small shut down down defender, or maybe a tagging role. I doubt any club is going to trade in a player to occupy either of those roles.

We can’t bring in Taranto and Heeney. It just can’t be done.

FYI, it's been reported we will match. That's the point of FA, the players who has been at the club for 8 years has done his service and is after maximum return for his last contract so the club gets compensation and the new clubs get compensation by not having to trade to offer him the money he is after otherwise he just stay at the club if they match. That's the point of FA.

Every single year clubs threaten to match.

Every single year.

None ever have.

None.

The point of FA isn’t to maximise a ‘last’ contract at all. Its to allow a player to choose where he works. Nothing more.

Please go away now.
