Dodo demanding 8 on it's own for Saad. Blues want something back.

If I'm blues I go to Bris and swap 8 for their 2 x 1sts.

There you go Dodo- have pick 18 now smart arse.

In another year I'd try to swap 15 and an early 2nd to the blues for 8 but not for us this year with what we have on our plate.

You know Dodo would then demand both firsts.

I'm just struggling to understand why Dunkley would want to leave a club that he has recently won a flag at and who will be challenging for further flags in the years to come, would choose a club located in an industrial wasteland like Tullamarine. Surely the Dogs can add his bro as a rookie if he's that desperate to play with him.

Probably something to do with being paid 300k more per year, and playing as a full time midfielder

Probably didn’t enjoy playing as a ruckman.

You don't know that. He may not be getting that vibe.

Where they train is not really a huge factor. They have access to cars.

We don't yet know what the AFL will be doing to list sizes.

Tongue in cheek SS..

And of course I don't know that... just as you don't know it's not a factor.

And where they train is a factor, as Seaford undoubtedly proved.

Seaford was a disaster

Oh FFS we’re gonna have to trade for the campaigner aren’t we [emoji31] not feelin’ confident about Adelaide accepting the compo pick. Crouch publicly announcing his commitment to us may have strengthened their cards just a touch.

What a shocking turn of events, which nobody could foresee:

Two Essendon trades fall over

Essendon’s high-profile trades with Carlton and Port Adelaide have reportedly fallen apart the day before the official start of the AFL Trade Period.

It comes as star midfielder Brad Crouch’s future grew increasingly uncertain following Adelaide’s day of silence on Tuesday.

The Bombers are reportedly miles away from deals over wantaway stars Adam Saad and Orazio Fantasia following their decisions last month to officially request trades away from Essendon.

The Herald Sunreports Carlton wants the Bombers to hand over a high draft pick to sweeten the deal that would see the Bombers let Saad leave in exchange for Carlton’s No. 8 overall pick at this year’s draft.

However, the report claims the Bombers won’t budge on the offer of a straight swap of Saad for the Blues’ first round selection
Essendon reportedly offered Saad — who has finished in the top three of the club’s best-and-fairest the past two years — a whopping five-year deal worth $700,000 a season, but he still wants to go to Carlton.

It comes on the same day the Bombers talks with the Power also reportedly fell flat with Essendon rejecting Port’s offer of pick No. 28 in exchange for Fantasia being released from the final year of his deal to move to South Australia.

The Agefirst reported the Dons rejected the offer and are demanding a first round pick that would see the Power have to perform some major wheeling and dealing.

lucky not us. essendon sound horrible to deal with.

How can we afford him?

We must be having a pretty hefty clean out.
Some of our blokes would’ve been on overs given we’ve had years of having to spend the cap on players who may not have deserved their exact dollar figure. More likely in years gone by rather than 2020-21 though (frontloaded). But I’m sure we will be clearing out a few dollars!

Dunstan on $400k likely to go
Savage on $300k likely to go
Lonie on $250k likely to go
Carlisle on $650k hasn’t re-signed and possibly goes
Webster on $600k possibly goes
Roberton on $600k possibly goes

How do you get / know these figures? Or is it a bit of a guess?

BJ Goddard absolutely certain Saints have spoken to whom it may concern re Treloar

I honestly don't think we will accommodate both Crouch and Treloar

Now to make sure that Adelaide have heard this ..... take pick 23, or we move onto Treloar.

When we were in for Caldwell it was not him or Crouch it was both.

So on top of anyone we move out there is the money that Caldwell was offered so I fail to see how we would not be able to accomodate Treloar if Collingwood paid some of his salary.

So for me it is a decision based on us wanting to pursue other targets in future seasons rather than an ability to have him in the salary cap.
