Club won’t walk away from Crouch.
If they match, we’ll trade pick 15.
Powers at be are as impatient as the supporter base and pick 15 doesn’t get us closer to winning a flag next year.
Would be nice to keep it if we can, but we won’t let the opportunity to bring Crouch in slip.

They won't match. I heard the replay on the radio. He says "we might match". I haven't seen anything where they say they definitively match.

With a lot of the depth players looking for new homes, that suggests Hind, Phillips (coincidentally very good freinds with Higgins) and Parker will all end up signing new deals.

I hope Parker gets another year.

they would be stupid to match. It means the end of first round pick disappears into the ether.

Far better to take that pick, then negotiate a pick swap with St.Kilda that may even involve a player such as Dunstan, that goes in their favour...

If done properly both clubs will be better off, because there are more picks in the mix

Very well summarised. You get bonus points if you can get that through the thick skulls of the Crows supporters!!

I have been saying this all along. If the offer is matched the compo pick 20 never exists. Don’t match, swap 20 & 44 for Dunstan & 15. Happy days.

Hey everyone, I finally managed to read through the last 200 posts, thanks for all the laughs! Can go any club, classic BF humour am I right?

Anyway, on a completely unrelated note, I have some info regarding our trade period. Don’t shoot the messenger but this is what I’ve been told from a very reliable source.

B Crouch has accepted our offer for four years and a trigger for a fifth, but the Crows are planning on bluffing us for Pick 15 should they not get compensated with Pick 2. Crazy right?
We’re also heavily into a young bloke at Richmond called Higgins, who wants more senior opportunity.
We’ve invited both Majak Daw and Shaun McKernan to train with us as soon as preseason starts. Hopefully it’s Majak we give a contract to.
Dunstan is almost certain to leave sadly, with the Crows and Carlton the two main suitors. Lonie also has been offered a three year deal by the Dogs, while we’re currently offering just one.
Carlisle set to sign a two year extension with us in the coming weeks.
Treloar, Taranto, Parker, and Brander are all other players that we have enquired about. Treloar looking the most likely out of the four but more likely to go to North or the Demons.
And lastly, Duncan Roberton likely to retire and start appearing on Dragons Den in replacement of Duncan Bannatine.

This is an example of type of stuff being posted by Adelaide nuffies in the crouch thread:

"sure they do, 2020 1st, 2021 1st, 2020 2nd..plenty of picks there and the crows will want a few of them. Why should St Kilda get the free hit of a quality mid and not have to adequately pay for it."

They seriously have NFI to even basic concepts to how RFA works.
OMG.Please tell me you have altered this for our amusement .
This is the result you have when you bang your relatives.

Give me Majak over McKernan everyday and twice on Sunday. **** it, even three times on Sunday’s.
Heck what’s Beau Maister up to?

Just out of curiosity,

if Crows match the bid for crouch and we do decide to walk away, would people be happy with

a) going back to Caldwell and telling him that we are no longer going after crouch and can offer him mid time if he wants it (I know it doesn't satisfy the immediate impact of someone like crouch but would be better than nothing) or
b) not going back to him as he had his chance and chose that joke of a football club over us (I would hope if we did go back to him, its not at the same price and length as what essendon offered)

He'd be better than Joyce or Clavarino as key defender cover, pay him not much and he'd be a decent free pick up I think.
Nah I really think we’re just dumpster diving, Majak looks like a beast of an athlete and I’ve seen passages in games that make you go gee he can play.

The problem is that he’s near enough to 30 at what point do you say well that’s all he’ll ever be.

Very interesting... this is what I'm talkin' about - just spill the beans instead of the flamingo cryptic special, I love it.

Mate, I'd take Majak Daw over McKernan any day of the week - we're purely dumpster diving for some depth. Why you wouldn't you have this beast as depth knowing MAYBE he could pull off something from his peak days? :tearsofjoy:
