Could be worse ...he could be a St Kilda player on a 700-800k contract and not able to play because of constant injury setbacks

I was disappointed last year to lose Steven but in retrospect it may have been for the best.

Caldwell was coming in as the next mid into the 22. A Dunstan replacement if you like

I didn't say exactly the same money, I said similar.

Not sure the exact offer for Caldwell but he also wasn't playing regular AFL footy remember.

I doubt there'd be a huge difference in the offers.

Far out. Feel for Jack. He obviously has some significant issues and our club did the right thing by him last year, to grant him his wish to get to Geelong.
To see they are now considering paying him out is pretty hard to cop.
A lot of clubs put out the right messaging re mental health etc, but a lot of times their actions don't back up the words.

I cant see any scenario where he comes back but there is that small part of me that would love to see him come back and play one last proper farewell game in front of the fans who love him.

set us up for the next trade period, leadership has been next level and has no doubt helped propel our guys to the next level.
Showed how good he is in big games, was nearly BOG in our first finals win in forever.
Whether its "every cent" or not, i don't think you can underestimate the massive impact he has had.
