Can't believe he wants a 1st for Fantasia.

Wonder what Saad is worth. Maybe 3 firsts and Patrick Cripps.

It’s actually amazing how simple minded the Dodo is.

Dodo: “we will give you a future 2nd for Caldwell”

Giants: “nah, first rounder, specifically a top 10 pick”

Dodo: “but the AFL won’t let us”

Giants: “better find another one then”

Dodo: “okay Port, if you want Fantasia, give us a first rounder”

Port: “WTF?”

Why aren't we having a go at OOC Jed Anderson? Is a beast
We have enough midfielders who can't kick already

Yep. And Caldwell is worth a pick in the 90s and Dunkley 1 3rd rounder

Get rid of Dmac + Ross + Lonie you’ll have enough cap space to fit Trealor. With Roberton probably retired or not offered new contract next season, with the likes of Hanners eventually retiring in like few seasons, it’ll open up space again.

You still have Dunstan, Webster, Savage and few others who’re probably gone soon.

Well Hawthorn or the Bulldogs both look like they would be a chance with Treloar.

But surely we would have a crack. He lives 10 minutes from the club and we look like we are more of a contender than either of the above teams.

We are pretty good at keeping our cards close to our chest. I don't remember us being heavily linked to crouch before it happened. It sounds like we would need them to accept a future second and also chip in a bit of the salary which we are holding out for.
That's right, all we were hearing, is that Crouch didn't want to play in Melbourne

2MP for potentially a future fourth with Suns paying a portion of his wage is extremely good trading by dodo. Seriously good work trading in Dunkley- who I am sure they will get, Caldwell, 2MP and possibly more players.
Why wouldn't we do that deal?

Treloar is one massive **** tease - probably Higgins too. What AFL club is gonna take our list cloggers when the list sizes are getting smaller? That honestly may be a factor in us keeping a few of them that are still contracted. Seems easy to say "Let's get rid of player A, B & C to make room for Treloar" lmao but that's gonna be even harder in this climate imo.

These jokers on the Adelaide board really live in a world of their own

Crouch was never staying. He would have stayed out of football before he played for us. The worst case scenario was that he was going into the psd. I don't believe St Kilda would have allowed that and they would have ponied up the pick 17. No player would have dealt with them in good faith ever again. It's all moot anyway. The club sh*t the bed in not trading him last year and they compounded it this year.

A bit more about it in today's AFL interview with Gallagher:

"Gallagher said St Kilda would have withdrawn its interest in Brad Crouch had Adelaide matched its bid for the restricted free agent.

"From our perspective, we were really transparent with Brad and his management and Adelaide, and as much as we like Brad and he'll be a really good player for our footy club, the strength of our interest in him was as a free agent.

"We didn't have any intention in trading for him, and that's meant as no disrespect to Brad at all, but we weren't entertaining a trade for him."

Yeah I call bullshit on that

Agree , Unfortunately we cannot disprove it. Because the Crows were not prepared to take the risk of a 5-year contract,
And too that what it boils down too,

I like Treloar as a player I really do. But he is not the difference maker between us winning a premiership or not.
His contract even with Collingwood taking o. Some of it is still large. Would rather keep the change and invest in the draft and look after our own knowing we have battle/Steele/Billings in 2 years we are going to have to fight off free agency with them. Committing another 700k plus to Him does t make sense at this time.

This situation with Ross is approaching the valuable externally / valuable internally intersection and heading right in the direction of the David Armitage no through road.

I tried telling you guys 2 years ago we should look at moving Seb Ross on while he has value, but all I got back was "he's one of our best" blah blah blah and blah blah blah "B&F" etc.

The club were similarly unmoved to shift him. So he stayed. And stood aside as Jack Steele took his spot and excelled in it more than Seb had in many years previously, leaving our 2 time B&F winner to only hold onto a spot in the 22 by grabbing Steele's old gig as tagger.

Any noises about him looking around at another club have interested the AFL community as much as one of Brendan Fevola's beer burps, contrast this to the commotion made by Brad Crouch, Shaun Higgins, Adam Treloar and so on. Of course he was never in the same level as those players, but my point is no one cares about Seb Ross except us and Tim Watson.

His value will keep shrivelling and we are destined to watch another favourite son wither on the vine. Just like David Armitage once was an attractive looking trade but we blanched at the idea of selling him at his peak, we have missed the boat with Ross and if we do manage to punt him, like Jack Steven it will be for massive unders.

We have to understand that pro teams don't keep all their stars, they keep most, sell off one or two to make space for and finance the next crop. It's hard to take but it works better than the alternative. I'm as emotional and attached to our players as anyone but we must be ruthless if we want to get anywhere near the top.

I'm not over the moon about losing Lonie and keeping Kent, not due to any ability , but simply because with a reduced list Lonie is more likely to be available and not injured on any given week.

at the moment we have not lost Lonie, and he has not said anything about a trade.

Clubs are going to have a lot of players the have to dispose of due to reduced lists and teams with contracted players that are excess will be out the door in a fire sale , so I fully expect you will see some players you never expect will be on the outer and the players could force the issue in any attempt to get game time , North with there big list cull could well stock up on some very good bargains.
Even we have to remove 4 players from our list as of now to get to 38 players if that is the list size they say.
We also have to remember teams have to pick kids in the draft as well.
Guys like Savage , Parker , Marsh , Phillips , Alabakis could all be out the door due to list size and that is before we bring in any more players.
Teams like Geelong are going to have to let players like Narkle , Cockatoo , Constable and Rohan out the door for nothing.
Richmond will also need to move some players to list sizes and every team are going to hold out in a attempt to get a price for there players this why Higgins is out the door because he is excess and un-contracted.
I'm interested in what WCE and Fremantle have to let go.

bulldogs haven't delisted any players as yet, so that will be interesting.
