Looking at a guy who was originally selected in the 30’s, who has now developed into his body and won the leading goal kicker award in both the VFL and SANFL competitions is a bad idea

If no-one wants our fringe players we can't afford him. If we can't get it done this year at least there are a heap of FAs next year. Maybe it will work in our favour in the end. We keep some injury depth and get Jelly next year.

Would trade our first pick for him i rate him that highly but the position he plays is not a need for the club.

Paton, Wilkie, Coffield are staying put.

Inane comments? Everything he said is true. Parker looked good in maybe 2 games. He was intense but poor with the ball and that’s only if he managed to find the ball. Was good to give him a shot, but we won’t miss him. Fact is, he was a liability in the forward line

As I said in September, lots of players were going to be adversely affected by the reduction of list sizes and its going to be more about being out of contract at the wrong time rather than lack of talent.

As for being a liability/list clogger - yeah right - played as a small(ish) forward - the easiest position in the AFL where 20 possessions and couple of goals a game is par for the course!!

Not sure what games you were watching in 2019 but I (along with most Saints supporters) were pretty excited with what he might bring to the side over the coming years.

PS Other than Donald Trump, I try not to get that excited about people losing their jobs!!!

Speak for yourself, i saw him as dead wood. Tried hard but never ran to the right spots and looked out of his depth as a consequence.

I do feel though 2-3 were in front of him to be moved on but they are on contracts and we are stuck with them.

I’m not that keen on narkle, I could show you a highlights package of a game where Phillips played very well.

Phillips and Narkle are a spectrum apart. Quinton is all flash and X factor, Ed is all work ethic and repeat effort. I rate Ed higher than lots of others do. He was no worse than Hill this year playing a similar role.

With list reductions I don't think we will get many takers on Dunstan , Webster , McKenzie , Roberton.
Lonie and Carlisle are the best placed to move due to not having contracts.
