It's official - he will be playing more next season.

Calling it now, he will be best 22 at the end of 2021

Well I am calling it now, he definitely may or may not be better than Caldwell by the end of 2021

We all understood you mate, the Dude has been on the White Russians already. He was daydreaming how the rug really set the room off.

C'mon man. Have you or have you not seen the Big Lebowski? Please respond vaguely or don't.

of course we can ... our comitment to crouch is to get him via Free agency , we held up our end of the bargain by putting the contract that he has accepted to him .. IF the crows decide they want to match that and keep him then we have zero obligation to the player to get them to us ...
this widly held rubish that once a player nominates you then you have to move heaven and earth and drop pants to land them or else look like a fool is utter trash ... last year Joe was comitted to the swans a deal didnt eventuate .. that didnt reflect poorly on the Swans at all its just more medai spin to have a underhanded swipe at the smaller clubs like us and North Melbourne for not landing a "big Fish"... there are two partys in every Trade if the trade doesnt eventuate in the eyes of the player and the player manager the blame doesnt automatically land on the club the player wants to go to thats just another unfair expectation put on a smaller club that they "HAVE TO" make the deal..
throw into this situation that its an offer to pick up the player via FA the obligation on St Kilda to get the deal done is no way a poor reflection on the club if it doesnt happen because the Crows match .. its not a bidding war we put in our offer the player takes it or leaves it the spanner is the crows have the option to stop the transfer by matching the offer ...
Ok mate

I'd be surprised if either Lonie or Kent are in our best 22 next year. Gresham, Billings and Steele should all go through the forwardline more next year. Butler and Higgins as the two more regular smalls with the mid/forwards rotating much more than they did this year.
Yep agree on Lonie & Kent getting pushed out with a full list to choose… but this is a rare luxury.

Everybody froffing about Higgins, but if he couldn't get a game in front of Aarts, Castagna & Rioli I'm not convinced he's a walk up to our best 22… then again I thought the same about Butler, so hopefully he's a gun too.

I may or may not have seen that particular Cohen Bros movie a dozen or so times.

Stop victimising me, this aggression will not stand man.

Yeah I think Dimma is pretty rigid with selection being based on team structure and role players >>> indivual talent. It's a luxury they can afford with the quality of team they have. Higgins isn't a great pressure forward either which I don't think they would have loved over there.

I hope we hang on to Ross to be honest.

If we need to clear cap space, I would hope Roberton, Webster, Dunstan and Lonie were moved in first.

Really good teams tend to have around 10 players in their 22 that go through the middle.

I would rather see how Seb goes with Crouch and Steele before moving him on. We would only be able to get a 2nd round pick for him in a compromised draft anyway. If we end up seeing he doesn't fit and have to trade him for a third next year, it was worth the risk.

Only way I'm happy to trade Seb is if we know Crouch and a second gun mid are on the way. But even that would be with some hesitation.

If we did lose Seb, does that mean we'd only have one Trevor Barker medalist on our list.

It doesn’t make any sense to me, with have a pocket full of cash and a first rounder.

Why are we after the 28 year old with injury and off-field problems, why not see if we can shake loose a better option.

He's only 26. Many footballers have off-field problems - look at how many have won Brownlows or Norm Smiths, for example. The player has shown (multiple times) that they can return from injury and have a major impact. What is the downside, exactly?

On the plus side if Ross goes to be near the huge shadow of his uncle, at least the next time we play Essendon our intercept mark count will skyrocket!

Great post. I'll be absolutely wrapt if Higgins is in RWB in 2021. Such a passionate character with a great work ethic and natural football IQ to add to a young group.

I agree he is going to be great for our young group. Hanners and hilly were brought in to liven up the place and players a bit. Higgins is an energizer bunny and loves to make people laugh. He is going to do heaps for the vibe around the place

I'd like us to keep Clavarino and Parker.

Happy to hang on to Savage, Carlisle and Lonie but understand they may need to leave for opportunity.

The rest I would only want to hang on to if they're on absolutely minimum wage.

Alright calm down, I'm not going to cut off your Johnson.
