I think most of us expected the Crouch, Higgins, McKernan deals would get done. Whilst we should be happy if that's our trade lot this year I think we are all still waiting for a late coup. The reality is it probably won't happen if we intend keeping pick 17.

Last year spoilt us.

This is true, and I reckon we will go very well to keep our first for this year. We may have a first rounder but not 17.

So basically
Hill
Ryder
Butler
Howard
Jones
Crouch
Higgins
McKernan

for
Bruce
Acres
Newnes
Steven

Last years first and a bunch of later swap picks

That is pretty impressive trading.

Got a first rounder, sprinkled some gold dust and created...I forget the rest of the BS from Draft Day

Would think that just about ends Lonie’s tenure with us.
Has some ability, but is limited by his physical attributes. Not quite enough or dynamic enough for his size.
Might get another crack at it somewhere else

Interesting to look at the stats for the year regarding Lonie . He was actually second for tackles inside the forward 50 behind Butler . For a guy who we all thought couldn’t stick a tackle that’s pretty good . Will be interesting to see if anyone is interested in him .

I really think Jack Higgins fills our need for a Dangerous mid forward and gives us one small forward who can use the footy going inside 50. Our current smalls aren’t great at hitting targets. Hopefully Billings can play time as the high half forward as well. Big Max will really appreciate it.

I didn't compare him to Milne did I, I said he's an upgrade on Kent and Sinclair, which he absolutely is on potential alone. Our club clearly sees this as well, and I'd back them in given their track record over the last couple of years.

Last year there were many here saying Butler was ordinary and would barely make the 22. It doesn't take much sense to look at their numbers (including Higgins), the role they played at Richmond which would have stifled their natural games to coming to us and being allowed to reach their potential.

Higgins is going to surprise a few here next year with his output.

I am fully expecting us to land Higgins and Treloar.

The guys in charge know what they're doing and they're not going to let that quality slip through their fingers, especially with an AA quality ruck only having a year or two left.

Trust the process lads.

Nobody is more excited than me, but if we land Higgins I just cannot see how we get Treloar done. Salary cap and draft picks wise.

Unless we can trade out players for picks and cap space. And that remains tough while the AFL don’t announce list sizes and salary cap limits for next year.

If anyone can do it our blokes can. I can’t believe how good they are.

Remove future 3rd and it seems balanced then. That will be way overs.

Richmond will want 17, and honestly, rightly so. If future 3rd wasn't there, it's basically give them 17, and ask for 21 for our future 2nd. That probably won't be enough, so I added our future 3rd for their future 4th. I feel like that's fair.
