Andrew, do you dislike majority of candidates or just the 'other side'? :)

I like and respect Tulsi as a person even though I disagree with most of her policies and I do have a soft spot for old Bernie, mostly because his shoutiness amuses me.

Ok, now it's your turn share your love of the 'other side'. 😘

IMHO, Biden's policies are irrelevant. He's polling well because he was Obama's VP, and he's a familiar, comfortable face.

But his age is a huge negative, along with Sanders'. I just can't see the appeal of voting for any one so old. Eight years is a long time, even more so in such a high pressure job.
Depends who the vp is. Suddenly that role becomes huge.

Actually, I watched Bill Weld speak and even though he is another 'oldie', didn't mind what he had to say but like Joe Walsh, has no chance against Trump (you know my feelings about him;)).

Of the Dems, think the establishment will go with Biden (known quality) despite his many hiccups.

I find Tom Steyer funny as he has had anti Trump ads even since he became President and still doesn't have the name recognition so think he may have wasted his money.

Bloomfield is a danger as even if he doesn't get the nomination has lots of money to spend on final candidate.

As for the other serious contenders - Pete, Warren and Bernie think there is still a bit to play out. Can't see anyone else being considered.

Haven't really got a strong preference at this stage.

No preference?

Im definately on the Warren train. Her consumer protection policies, proposed wealth taxes and anti lobbying policies would be game changing for the western world. Although I think she has very little chance of beating trump and even if she did it would be very difficuly to get her policies through. Its a pity she jumped on the medicare for all bandwagon.

Sadly, I am not sure that the USA is ready for a woman President. I did put her in the final four.

If Trump agrees to debates (which at this stage there is doubt), and she is the candidate, will be interesting to see if she can convince the people enough to get them to come out and vote.

I did like Harris in the beginning and was disgusted by some on the comments on here about her. Different standards for women but accepting of men. Hypocrites!

Harris is smart and was smart enough to see that it is not her time.

I agree, just look at how people treat Melania.

They are very similar to Petes. If Pete is your number 1 then Biden should be your number 2. Warren and Sanders policies are dramatically different from both.

If Biden’s policies were similar to Buttigieg’s, and policies were my only consideration, then naturally you’d be right. Policies aren’t my only consideration though: A president (thankfully) isn’t all-powerful, and their ability to enact their agenda is constrained by the other branches of government. From my armchair position as someone who has no say in the matter, what I’m hypothetically looking for in a candidate is someone who has the ability to understand and judge based on the advice they receive, to disagree with that advice when appropriate, to manage the complexities of the political situation, and to sway public opinion with a combination of rhetoric and reason. My impression is that Biden would be less effective in these domains than Sanders, Warren, and Yang, so his policies don’t even come into it for me.

Note also that I’m not “locked in” to support of particular policy positions. For instance, I can see advantages of a completely socialised medical system, but can also see advantages of allowing people to retain private insurance; and I think either would be much better than the current state of health care in the U.S. Similarly, I think there are benefits and drawbacks to both the proposal of free public university for all, and for lower-income earners only, but that either would be better than the current system there. For me, it’s not an all-or-nothing binary involving finding the single dominant policy in any area, but an allocation of weights to different options. I prefer most (not all) of Buttigieg’s policies to most (not all) of, say, Warren’s, but typically only by a little (e.g., 55/45 rather than 100/0).

Oh, like you counting posts and naming posters?

That sort of 'best'?

You seem to think there's nothing worse than using publicly available information to demonstrate your own point when being attacked for it, as I was. If I were in your shoes, it'd be water off a duck's back. The longer you hold on to it as though I have committed some personal foul against you even though it had nothing to do with you, the worse off you're going to be.

Nice try but there have been other occasions. I really don't care that much until you decide to reply to my post in the manner your did.
Normally I just choose to ignore your posts.

No idea what you're referring to now, but your continual cheap shots at Mrs Trump do you no favours.

Maybe I should borrow her "I really don't care" coat as I am not looking for any approval from you.

Edit: Oops, left out a key word.
