And the other side was probs antifa or something just as bad

You're asking him to choose words more carefully, when he already chose the perfect words. Y'all are grasping at straws

Dude, we're talking about an event that saw 100s walking around with ****ing tiki torches :drunk:

If those are your "perfect words" for this particular case, I think you really should be setting your expectations a little higher.

They were present in significant numbers at Charlottesville. They were a 'side' that was there.

Maybe he thought the "blood and soil" chant was about tending to ones roses, and not celebrating a regime that murdered millions of Jews, Roma, and homosexuals?

Even if we give this one highly debatable example of Trump's words being twisted by the media (at best he chose his words poorly), do you have a second example? I mean you should be able to, you said there were too many times to count, so it won't be hard.

Ability to express himself clearly actually, but I suppose you could argue a link.

As Ned mentioned, he really does seem to need the ol' "what he really meant was.." quite often for such a noted straight shooter :tearsofjoy:
Why are you trying to defend corrupt, biased, and frankly poor journalism?

Which he addressed, except the left seemed to skim over it like he never said it?

Which part about this is debatable? I mean even you guys are not trying to defend the media, you're actually doing the exact same thing by ignoring what was said

How are you going with that second example?

Why are you trying to defend corrupt, biased, and frankly poor journalism?

Because I don't think its an example of such, as I've said previously.

Why are you trying to defend a confusing, unclear and frankly poor statement?

Which he addressed, except the left seemed to skim over it like he never said it?

And after he said that , he went on to re-emphasise the fine people on both sides remark.

And that's obviously NOT who we're talking about... which is why I ask

This is the whole point, mate - its not obvious, in any objective interpretation.

If he'd just addressed the neo-nazi/white nat presence and left it there, it wouldn't have become the thing it has. But he didn't do that, for some reason he felt the need to back the truck over it with the follow-up re: fine people on both sides. Again, the white supremacists were one of the 'sides' that were there, thats not disputed ie. its was an exceptionally poor choice of words.

Not to mention he saying all this after the vision of the tiki torch mob was everywhere and after a white nationalist had driven their car into a crowd. Not exactly the time to quibble over who was in the 'right', or assign some kind of equivalence. You're seriously questioning why the media focussed on the things they did? Deary me.

An honest question for you - do you really think this was just a Trump thing? ie. If someone else was POTUS and the events and statements played out exactly the same, are you seriously suggesting the media would have let it go without a 2nd thought?

I'm not, I'm defending a very clear, un-confusing, and quite obvious statement (for people older than primary school age, or those who aren't blinded by bias)

Media said: Trump says we should inject disinfectant to treat coronavirus

What he actually said:

“I see the disinfectant, where it knocks it out in a minute – one minute – and is there a way we can do something like that by injection inside, or almost a cleaning? Because you see it gets in the lungs, and it does a tremendous number on the lungs. So it’d be interesting to check that."

Media said: Trump says he hopes George Floyd 'looking down' and seeing today’s jobs numbers as 'a great day for him'

What he actually said:

"Equal justice under the law must mean that every American receives equal treatment in every encounter with law enforcement regardless of race… Hopefully George Floyd is looking down right now & saying this is a great thing that's happening for our country…in terms of equality"

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Media said: Trump calls illegal immigrants 'animals'

What he actually said was in direct response to a question from Sheriff Margaret Mims who asked about the MS-13 gang

“We have people coming into the country, or trying to come in — and we’re stopping a lot of them — but we’re taking people out of the country,” Trump responded. “You wouldn’t believe how bad these people are. These aren’t people. These are animals. And we’re taking them out of the country at a level and at a rate that’s never happened before.”

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Do I go on? It seems like somewhat of a waste of time presenting evidence that is ignored due to bias

No. 1 and 3 are no issue at all for mine, media reporting the words he actually said as was the case with 'fine people on both sides'.

No. 2 re: George Floyd looking down, yes, thats a good example of what you're talking about. Up there with the koi fish video.

I see were back to It's all the media's fault.

The standard position of conservative thinking is everyone else should show personal responsibility except me/us.

For all the problems of the mainstream media holding Trump to account for the child that he is certainly lands in the positive side of their ledger.

"Trump isn't a racist, it's just the leftie media keep making the racist stuff he says sound like he's a racist!!!"

Wouldn't he first need to say something racist for that to be true?

Here is one:

“I have black guys counting my money. … I hate it,” Trump told John R. O’Donnell, the former president of Trump Plaza Hotel & Casino, according O’Donnell’s account in his 1991 book “Trumped!” “The only guys I want counting my money are short guys that wear yarmulkes all day.”

Trump, according to O’Donnell, went on to say, “‘Laziness is a trait in blacks. It really is, I believe that.”

In an interview with Playboy in 1999, Trump remarked that “[t]he stuff O’Donnell wrote about me is probably true. The guy’s a f—-g loser. A f—-g loser. I brought the guy in to work for me; it turns out he didn’t know that much about what he was doing. I think I met the guy two or three times total. And this guy goes off and writes a book about me, like he knows me!”

So the elephant in the room is Biden's out and out racism and cognitive decline.

The majority of Americans think he won't make it to 4 yrs even if he wins.

Great plan by the Dems keep hiding your candidate so no one notices how far gone he is.
