I took my big board out to 60 in the OP, get a few of the mature aged SA players in there.

Also took out Alex Davies and Joel Jeffrey so I could add two other names in, I had Davies at #8 and Jeffrey at #17 before that.

so Chris, how do you rate our draft?

Hard to really fault it too much. We took guys around where I had them rated, Chapman will be a good player and I'm looking forward to seeing what our plans going forward are O'Driscoll is the type who'll find a role somewhere - his season wasn't quite as good as I was hoping for this year, but I guess that's why he was available at our pick. If nothing else, I consider him a safe prospect.

I liked taking an 18 year old Victorian tall in the rookie draft, well worth a shot to grab a potential bargain. Ollie Lord was the one I liked in this draft, but with him going earlier, Treacy is probably the one I'd have gone for. Even if he doesn't develop into a best 22 player, a strong aggressive player like him will always have a depth role.

Hi Chris, what is it about Lord that you liked? I think it's the first time you've mentioned him in this thread

I mentioned Ollie Lord a few times on the Fremantle board as the one I'd go for mid to late draft. I liked him because he's a proper key forward. A lot of the talls in this draft were athletic utilities or guys I projected better as defenders, Lord is a forward. Think his size and athleticism mix is promising, and I always like good overhead marks. It's a bit of a guessing game with the Victorian talls, but I reckon he'd have gone earlier with a year of football behind him.

You seemed to nail the North selections.

Well done.

I forgot I had Spicer to North, I think it's a good match for them. He's raw but exciting, and my main criticism of North has always been a lack of true speed and x factor. Spicer and Stephenson will be worth watching. And Phillips wasn't a surprise for me.
