Ever hear the guy who MIGHT get drafted at pick 65 complain about moving interstate? No, it's the guys at the elite end who pull this bull shit, which thins the draft pool for other clubs.

Yeah Wingate told GWS he’d be returning to SA after 2 years if they picked, so no point wasting a draft pick on him. But less so draft tampering I think, because he didn’t flat out say he wouldn’t go.

I suppose the irony is Paracleet was actually defending the exact same thing you are saying here. Like all posters I agree and disagree with various things people say but KM and Chris both put effort beyond what the average poster puts in - do either deserve to be mocked/attacked?

I've loved Chris' insights this year, probably more than past years but I don't think his comments on KM are necessary. People are generally smart enough to work out when thoughts are "borrowed". I see a heap of posts I've made on here floating around the place without any credit - I don't feel the need to call people out about it - without having official roles in the AFL/media we are all reliant on information from others.

That is true in theory, but I feel calling KM out is perhaps warranted. He is paid to produce content for a major website as a so-called expert, and this should mean he is presenting his own/original opinions and sticking by them. He puts out a lot of information which I like to read, but it is also obvious that he takes other people's information/opinions and then passes it off as his own and/or changes his own ratings (often significantly).

Firstly VFL/AFL would 100% make an example of them if an interstate kid pulled this shit.
And secondly quite simply WA kids are by and large way more open to moving-eg have bit more fortitude than these pampered highly rated vic kids.

apart from McCarthy (who still at least went when drafted) you won’t see too many wa kids coming out saying WA or bust .

Even when we have wa players out of contract these days and looking to change clubs they’re almost as likely to choose another non wa club(see omeara, Martin , buddy etc)

Yeah Wingard is very explicitly not tampering. He was perfectly happy to fulfill his rookie contract.

Perkins is really interesting because the article says "Sources have indicated that Perkins has opted against engaging with some non-Victorian clubs and even hinted to one that he would not join them if drafted by that club.". Which could be nothing given the 'sources have indicated' journalist speak but if true, that is clear cut tampering.

Anyone hear D’Orazio on AFL.com.au saying Adam Cerra was in the same boat as Perkins and basically told freo he didn’t want to go there? But the club called his bluff and he signed on an extension soon after.
Would like to see Cerra extended beyond next year soon..
