If Motlop or Farmer were projecting as early picks next year it could be a good time to consider trading our future first round. Future picks could attract a premium given the limited exposure of this year's talents, however our local targets are shining.
They'd have to be Rankine level to bother doing that.
Yes this is an important point to consider. If either of those two were a top 10 pick say, then using our 2021 first to get another elite (preferably WA) talent this year would make sense. Most clubs would see us a likely cellar dweller again in 2021 and so it would be attractive to trade with us.
The key is whether we rise up the ladder next year. If we did, we would look like real winners from the trade. If not, we could look silly.

Normally the team trading out their future pick overrate their chances the following year and ability to spot talent.
This year’s draft has been considered the weakest and most compromised in years.
A lot of teams would jump at the chance to trade out of this draft to the following one.
Swans, Dogs and Magpies depending on picks may want to swap first round picks.
I’m against the idea but I can’t see it happening.

To be fair to Farmer, he seems to be doing his role each week but he’s playing in the worst side and would be seeing little of it as a forward pocket. Agree he would be no where near top 10 thoughts though
Kobe is fourth on the goal kicking leaderboard as a small forward in his underage year. The ball barely went down his end today.
The last player we drafted to kick 11 at PSA we drafted was McPharlin. Again Motlop is playing underage.
Don’t forgot about Dallas McAdams.
They may not be top 10 picks but we are going to need some currency to get them

Thinking about it a bit, if we get through trade week with no NGA changes (and there is a lot of AFL plates atm) then we should be safe next year. Teams would be trading future picks knowing what they have in the NGA. Should be safe for one more year I reckon

Henry definitely never kicked 11 for Christ Church as an underager.
Hope so, reckon at least one of our blokes is likely to be a decent small forward.
No but he played a lot more midfield for them and he did have a game where he had something like 30 possessions 4 goals on only 75% game time.
I think jesse should not get a bid inside 40 so that we get the right to match as he is metro nga.

I’m not so sure about that.
The local rule (if it is happening) allows us to take I defend us talent with them needing to be in our NGA. They just needs to play in our zone

I reckon he's pretty good, one of the best at what he does in this draft. I think he's in the 20-25 range. If we went tall with our first, then I think the inside ball winning of Powell would be a good mix with Brandon Walker and Joel Western.
