Can you tell us anything about Callum Johnson from West Perth?
I’m yet to watch him, hopefully West Perth are streamed soon. From what I understand he is your usually smaller mid accumulator with not much athleticism. Zurgblade would be the person to ask

Performances at lower levels can show promise but seriously you need to see young players at higher levels to make an assessment.

League and National champs count and not PSA.

The boy Clape yet to play Colts.
Alcock Cup is a proven comp, e.g AA 2019.
Kids boarding are used to living away from home.

Given it looks like Ol' David "The Bag Carrier" Walls has hit on every 1st round pick since 2016 (that is A LOT harder than it sounds, look at our history), I suppose we just have to back the man in.

16 - Logue
17 - AB, Cerra
18 - Sturt
19 - Young, Serong, Henry

Cant argue with that haul, even if we havent seen Henry debut yet

C

could DGB play as a key forward either?
Trying to remember where, but there was speculation he could play midfield. All just speculation, but sounds like he may have spent time up the ground. I do lean towards the opinion that a top 5 pick on a defender is a luxury. Decent defenders can be found later. If we ended up with 4* of our defenders being top 10 picks they should be unbeatable.

*Hill, Young, Logue, DGB. (not including Conca or Aish).

Watching him on the weekend gave me the impression he could become a midfielder, I know it is harder to ‘make a midfielder’ but how he handles ground balls in general play could be translated well to being a midfielder. Bont and Fyfe weren’t bonafide mids in their draft year but I can’t say if they didn’t play any midfield time at all which DGB hasn’t done and won’t do as he is entrenched in Swan Districts senior team and defence.

A potential tall midfielder with his marking ability is a premium if it can be realised but his intercept marking ability is also a premium as I haven’t seen many kids as naturally good at it as he is, he is every chance of also being the very best interceptor in the game.

Young and Ryan are damn good intercept defenders and I'm not sure how many you need. The defender I think we are most in need of is a taller type who can handle the likes of Dixon or the Kings. But I am a fan of DGB.

What KPDs do you like around our 2nd pick?

No argument but to suggest 'League and National champs count and not PSA' is bog ignorant.
In American Football their is a lot of lopsided contests in college.

New England Patrols heavy weight the level of comp.

They see lower levels of comp not as true indication of talent.

New England have four years of judging a player but I think the concept is the same.

I believe that watching PSA can give recruiters a misunderstanding of talent.
