Oldham have officially being relegated to the National League after this weekend defeat and Both Barrow and Stevenage winning.

Hopefully we can see the Latics make a quick return to the Football League.

What a shame.
I’m old enough to remember their great days.
Oldham once played my mob Bolton in an FA Cup Quarter Final, beating us 1-0 and then they took Manchester United to 3-3 in the FA Cup Semi. They really should have won that game too and got to the Final.
Now they are in the 5th tier.
It’s all from their idiotic ownership.

I thought Harry Kewell was doing a reasonable job for them and was unfairly dismissed.
Poor ownership has 100% led to their demise and they will now be like Notts County stuck in the conference which is an incredibly difficult league to get out of (Ask Luton Town fans)

Finishing the season well, setting up nicely for next season. A double for KLP too.

I know how that feels, Carlisle were the first former Division One team to be relegated, and I believe we are still the only team to have sat on the top of the top tier to be relegated from the Football League.:(

Despite some difficulties in our year in the Conference (floods and injuries) we did manage to win promotion back to the Football League at the first attempt. I hope both Oldham and Scun-thorpe can make it back, if not in the first season, then pretty quickly, they both have long and proud football histories.

Luton Town could do the opposite. First team to be relegated to non-league football to then make the Premier league.

perhaps it is destiny that it will happen at the same time Oldham does the opposite. I feel both Oldham and Scunny need a new boardroom before they stand a chance at recovering and getting out of non-league football. Both clubs are rotten from the top.

Only thing that matters for you now is that Mitrovic breaks the record

Guy Whittingham's 42 second-tier goals in a season record from 1992/93. He's got 3 games to equal/break it

He's also almost into the top 10 Championship goal scorers of all time which is incredible.

Forgot to mention, Forest Green have won promotion to League One. Still battling with Exeter for the League Two title, who are a point away from automatic promotion. Congratulations to the Green Devils

Thanks for the kind words. It's really disappointing but not unexpected - due to the way the club had been heading over the last few seasons. I'll always have the memories. For a while we were everyone's favourite second club.

I was there when we pipped West Ham for the old 2nd division title with an injury time penalty. Word of advice - do not kiss a penalty spot, it's disgusting.

I lived in London when we were in the Premier League. I used to drive oop north for weekend home games. We had a supporters group that used to meet and go to all the games in the south.

I went to a League cup final at Wembley.

I went to two FA Cup semi-finals (Maine Road, Wembley) against Man U and the subsequent replays (both Maine Road). The 1993-94 semi was a real sliding doors moment. We were leading 1-0 in the last minute of extra time when Mark ******* Hughes stuck out a toe for an equaliser. We lost the replay 4-1. If we had got to the final it would have been against Chelsea that we had done the double over in the league. So instead of qualifying for the European Cup Winners Cup we didn't win another game for the rest of the season and got relegated.

I went back over there in Feb 2013 and was thinking it would be good to catch a game. It turned out that we were still in the 4th round of the FA Cup and got drawn at home against Liverpool. Me and a few mates got a package with best seats, lunch at a hotel with meet and greet hosted my favourite ever player, Andy Ritchie. Then we won the game 3-2. Happy days.

It's crazy how many games Wimbledon have managed to lose from being in front and many different ways that we've found to do it. And we only needed one or two of them over the whole season to have stayed up. I'm at the point now that I'm ok with them going down. We need to get past the initial hype and media of how it all re-started, get to work clearing out the players who can't take us forward and build something new.

For the record despite his mistake here Tzanev has been one of our best over the course of the season and I hope he sticks with us in League Two.

Hello my new friends, how goes it here.
I still remember 1998, when my mob Bolton & Everton finished level on points, but we got relegated from the Premier League on goal difference.
Heart breaker. 😫
You escaped that year by the skin of your teeth, but this time around ……..?

Huddersfield, low budget but in the play offs where they are specialist over the years, best form in the championship and a seriously good goalie for penalties

Hard to believe Everton are now a serious chance to end one of the longest div 1 runs

Going to buy the league next year ffs.
The most fascinating part will be the transfer ins/outs for Everton.

Wonder if we'll be able to get a lot of top-tier Championship players into the club or if we'll be hamstrung by wage issues.

Would think you'd sell 2 of Pickford and DCL/Richy and hold most of the rest of the squad together for a recharge. The money you recoup for those would be plenty to buy whatever you want.

Just have to look at the Hammers and Toon in their recent bumps down and be reassured you'll most likely be fine. A complete cock up on a managerial appointment (if Lampard leaves) or a complete stuff up of recruitment are the only things that would count against you, but even then, with guys like Gordon, Gray, Iwobi (yeah he'll rip the Championship up), Doucoure (maybe), etc. you'll be ok.

It'll actually be a fun season for you, winning 80% of your games and potentially seeing a title. Our season in League One ended up being surprisingly fun. Plus you get to play a bunch of teams you wouldn't normally see.

I think being a World Cup year means we’ll lose both Pickford and Richarlison if we go down. I think DCL would be gone anyway. We desperately need to sell some even if we stay up to try and rebuild the squad.

Not sure if Lampard staying would be a sure thing, I think Everton would have a crack at luring Rooney from Derby again. It would suit Rooney's managerial career path better now that we'll be in the championship. Get Everton back into the PL, stay a few years to settle the ship and then off to United.

I just hope we keep Gordon & Gray, both young and full of talent that can win games alone. Get rid of the dead wastes and bring in some hard working top-tier Championship footballers.

I think Pickford/DCL/Richy/Allan/Doucoure will all go. Likely Keane gets sold (Hopefully), Coleman will stay, Holgate I'm not so sure but he strikes me as the type to force a move. Godfrey not sure but he'd be a nice one to keep. Iwobi would struggle to find another club, would be handy in the Championship if he stays but he's on good coin I believe.

Squad aside, the board & club owners need sorting out as well. It's going to be a whirlwind few years for Everton but maybe what the club needs to re-find itself.
