Oxford deserve their lead certainly, Mebude and Guiness Walker have looked the pick of the Dons players. Hopefully we can turn it around in the 2nd half

Watched that 1st half, Oxford looked far the better side and got their goal.

Had been a big night with the Dogs and I hit the sack at HT.

Surprised in the morning to see the score 3-1 to AFCW. What happened?

Jack Rudoni happened. Oxford kept pressing and looked like they might get a 2nd, Wimbledon get a set piece and Nightingale headed goalwards which Jack Rudoni smashed in. From there, the Dons had all the momentum, Nightingale scored and within 2 minutes Rudoni had a 2nd to confirm the victory!

Only just noticed that most of the League One games were cancelled last weekend, would that have been due to international duties?

Big couple of weeks coming up for Wimbledon with Morecambe tomorrow and then Plymouth and Shrewsbury (plus their Arsenal match in the EFL Cup). Some good results now could really set up the season.

Assal in the last minute off stoppage time, 4-3 to the Dons 😁

Far from a finished outfit and we're still conceding far too often but there really is something to like about Wimbledon this season.

A routine win for Forest Green and another 5+ goal thriller for AFC Wimbledon! Great weekend!

Tonight Wimbledon AFC's goal difference for and against is 15 to 12 from 7 games. We've scored more goals than anyone else in League One, 5 more than top placed Sunderland but we've also conceded more than anyone else bar Ipswich.

I mean we're absolutely on the right side of the ledger (and as a Dockers fan I am slightly confused to finally be supporting a team who can score)

But it wouldn't hurt to stop a few more.

Two years ago. Bottom of League One. Points deduction in place, transfer embargo, players not paid, senior players walk out, half the team is the youth squad, a petition to pay taxes or be wound up is lodged. We lose 5-0 at home to Ipswich.
Next home game was Doncaster. We tell them we can’t play. The youth squad is too tired. The Football League are furious - a football club just admitted they can’t play football. More fines, more points deducted and a threat to be thrown out of the League.
But we survive - and of course get relegated. But we jump straight back up and last night we go and visit Ipswich.
Payback is complete as we put 5 past them on their ground.
Bolton up to third.
This is a Netflix doco in the making….

Championship clubs are outraged at proposals that would see them play up to 24 matches in 105 days to accommodate the World Cup next season.

Sportsmail has seen plans that would require second-tier sides to complete 21 league matches and potentially three League Cup clashes after a shortened summer break in the first part of a congested campaign that would start on July 30 and end on November 12.

Clubs would return to action on December 10, when the Qatar World Cup is at the quarter-final stage, before completing the 46-match league season, as normal, on May 6.

It is thought the EFL want to finish on that date to allow them to stage the lucrative play-off finals over the Bank Holiday weekend.

The Premier League are likely to start their 38-game season on August 6 and end it a week later than usual, in late May. Officials at several Championship sides have blasted the plans.

‘The 46-game season and all the cup matches that come with it is brutal,’ said one Championship executive. ‘Last season, albeit thanks to Covid, was the worst we have experienced. We thought we would never see anything worse and yet here we are with these proposals that can only be described as madness.

‘Players are shattered from last season and now we want to shorten the summer break and cram it into a normal end-date? Why not extend the season? It doesn’t make sense.’

What a Sharp Goal by The Blades !!
(Watching The Yorkshire minnow derby cause bored by Bees v Wolves)

It was a pretty poor goal but wouldn't be you without a post.
