My only reason why he isn't more sought after is it's hard to define what position he should play.

Me and the bro in law have been saying for a while that the only reason he isn't in Europe is he probably lacks a foot of pace. Though with the way he has developed out of sight this season it might not matter anymore. IMO could easily play as a 10 in a league like the championship.

This is why I don't like VAR. It's almost impossible for a ref to tell wtf happened there. The ref gives that though and they wont overturn it imo.

That's my take too. Add in the linesman and how they're not supposed to call offside for an attacking play. When it's obvious we waste time letting the play develop, and in the case of the GF against Newcastle that year if there is an issue with the VAR then it unfairly results in an incorrect goal. More trouble than its worth.

Unfortunately, just like cricket, it was brought in for blindingly obvious errors but it seeped into measuring whether someones elbow was 1 cm more advanced than someones ankle.

Add AFL into that too. I won't watch it anymore how it's officiated to the nth degree. I find it unwatchable. If stressing the minutiae were a sport it would be AFL. The round ball officially won me over with how much it actually flows with limited stoppages and generally loosely officiated. Please don't ruin that for me with VAR.
