Guy clearly has a bone to pick. I posted this in his thread.

In his last phantom draft Knightmare had:

Gibcus at 11th, drafted 9th
Brown at 18th, drafted 17th
Sonsie at 23rd, drafted 28th
Banks at 43rd, drafted 29th
Clarke at 31st, drafted 30th

How does that equal a D+? I've been critical of the draft but worst I'd give it is a C+ or a B lol

The GOAT is getting older, his dont argues are less effective and is being played forward. Who is going to be is support in the midfield or fill in we he is up forward?
We also have no idea how his kidney injury will affect him moving forward, im gonna be nervous every time he gets bumped now.

He is 30, not a decrepit old man. Plus athletes around the world are proving if you look after your body you can still be elite at the highest level.

Also, he just got the longest break of his career and the football world has provided plenty of motivation for himself and the club next year.

Add in all the noise from the club is that he will play more midfield this year because they realised we struggled in there (doesn’t help when everyone including our rucks we’re injured).

Nah we still would have got a D+ because we should have drafted Judson Clarke instead

My point is that drafting a KPF in the top-30 just because we ‘need one’ would be a mistake. History shows KPF are very hard to get right even in the top-10, so unless we were very confident we were getting a good one we should not select someone just because they are ‘big’ and cross our fingers. We should trade for one, try and get one as a free agent, re-deploy someone on our list already or wait until next years draft when the big man stocks are more plentiful.

That's not a knock on Brown or Banks as an individual, just the type of player is not who I think we needed ahead of a versatile and well rated tall.

How are we meant to know who to draft when Hocking and Brad Scott keep changing the rules year by year.
Geelong would have inside knowledge, twins tell each other everything.
This stand the mark rule will be axed next year probably ,but only Geelong fc knows for sure.

The stand rule was not brought in to increase scoring, if it was, they would have removed it already because it simply didn't do that. Ergo, it was brought in for another reason. And that reason is Richmond, or rather what we were doing that was undermining the AFL's socialist equalisation agenda by developing a gameplan that relied less on top end talent through the draft.

I totally agree.
Also Hocking should not have been allowed to go to Geelong for at least two years.
It shows he was potentially biased and also he has inside information that could assist Geelong.

i disagree on one aspect,think all 5 are capable of kicking off in rd 1
brown & gibcus off HB...sonsie on the ball,banks on a wing & clarke in place of aarts...its a relief for a change to have elite talent available and not just rookie
listed role players,3rd rounders & MSD filling 4-6 positions across the park,no disrespect intended as i know we've been lucky in picking up discarded
or forgotten talent thru the rookie system in the past and turning them into premiership stars and terrific ppl but that kinda luck can only last so long i feel
you only have too look at aarts

I was more referring to our unproven mids. ROUND 1 our midfield will be : Cotch, Dusty, Edwards, Lambert, Prestia, Bolton, Graham…. so none of RCD, Dow, Ross, Martyn or Sonsie will play. (one ‘might’ play…)

I do expect 1-2 of Gibcus, Banks, Clarke or Brown to play Round 1.

Neither of those have shown any real signs of being a consistent regular AFL player let alone answering our KPF prayers.

Miller had a solid debut as a defender, but that's not a great sample size.

I am not convinced of the Balta-forward idea and don't think it's in the clubs plans, but we might be forced to give it a go, and play Miller back if he is ready.

Lowest rating they gave a club was C+, many got A+. Bit like auskick where everyone is a winner. I’d like to see a bell curve and some detailed evaluation criteria spelled out, including criteria weighting and a regression analysis with previous draft performance based on player profiles
