Even though I wanted Port to win, I now want them to lose by well over 100.
Tell them. The Q game is their grand final every year. Why? Because they hate us and a win is like a flag. It's the only time they get a crowd during most seasons.Melbourne aren’t arch enemies and haven’t been so for nearly 60 years.
Once an arch enemy, always an arch enemy. Primary school in the late 50's and early 60's was a nightmare never to be forgotten or forgiven.Melbourne aren’t arch enemies and haven’t been so for nearly 60 years.
I’m happy to barrack for the Dees on the day because the Dogs have already broken their drought. That will hand the longest drought record to StKilda I believe? I’d be happy with that too. I’m neutral on Treloar although hope for his sake he doesn5 have a sticker like in the SF.
That said I will definitely barrack for th3 winning team because I’ll happily change sides mid match.

Who's the bigger choker the last couple of years if Port lose this. Brisbane or Port Adelaide.
Yep rapt they won in 16 but without the bye when they were battered and then GWS only having 1 game in the 3 leading up I don’t think the Dogs make the Granny.Maybe the bye is an omen for the dogs.
First year we had the pre finals bye, dogs win the premiership.

Nah Melbourne still have a fair swag of their look down their noses at the rest of the comp. History counts also. Can’t stand themFair enough for the over 70s but they have been irrelevant to the rest of us since forever.
I once had the misfortune to watch a Queens Birthday game in the MCC.Yep rapt they won in 16 but without the bye when they were battered and then GWS only having 1 game in the 3 leading up I don’t think the Dogs make the Granny.
Glad they did
A favourite footy memory is watching Dees Vs Collingwood one night in early 97 as an early teen. We were sitting on the Ponsford, and a bunch of uni-aged Dees supporters were having a merry old time drinking away. They were screaming 'go Dees' in these stupid theatrical private school accents, and kept in good spirits as we absolutely flogged them that night. I recall losing my crap laughing when one of their entourage passed out, and more when they left him on the benches at the end of the game.
102 point win if I remember correctly. Round 2, 1997.

Plus 89 eliminationNorth also largely irrelevant. At least I have witnessed an actual rivalry in my lifetime ( by that I mean finals).
I only recall one Collingwood Melbourne final in my life…. There might have been more but they knocked us out in a semi in 1988.
Useless stat. We kicked 67 goals in the first 3 games of that season
At Waverley, think they kicked the last 3 or 4 to get up. Then we lost to Carlton the next week, our best chance agst them for a while after leading at 1/2 time, then won 4 to go 6 and 2 before we went through our June lean period and then missed finals.Round 3 was a loss to the Saints wasn’t it? We were 1st, them 16th.
There were stages in 1997 where we looked great, saying that I was only 9 then.
Rocca boys were on fire. I thought they'd be unstoppable. Imagine having those two now!Useless stat. We kicked 67 goals in the first 3 games of that season

It was a loss, but I yearn for that kind of offense.
Feels like we're a long way from kicking 130 plus in a game again
