70k is a fantastic effort for a club that has had zero on field success and most predicted as a strong wooden spoon chance.
It’s an easy throw at line but Essendon are truly a sleeping giant of the competition.Agreed. Imagine if we had Tigers style success?

Richmond membership and attendance figures since 1984
I think I might have too much time on my hands but was wondering how our memberships and attendances this year compared to other years. I've posted it here in case anyone else is interested. Year Membership Total Attendance Average Attendance 1984 6,822 608,961 ...www.puntroadend.com

I think we should have a membership tracker , similar to the one League-Unlimited has for its NRL clubs .
Will give people an idea of how excited a fan base is , and it is generally interesting to keep track of the figures.

These figueres for all clubs are laughable, completely bogus. Dont get so sucked in and take it so seriously.
Besides flat out false inflation...
you have one game memberships, 3 game memberships....clubs have signed up pets in the past (hello Hawthorn...)
ONLY full season all game meberships should count.
Absolutely cannot be trusted.
Does that mean the Blues have 87K or 73K ‘paid up’ Members. Hard to follow all these things.Around 7,000 have been given free memberships by existing Carlton members. Fantastic effort by the 80,378 Carlton supporters.
Spot on but the AFL make the rules. If they counted the numbers as you suggested the same clubs would be at the top Rich, WCE Carl, Ess, Coll. These figueres for all clubs are laughable, completely bogus. Dont get so sucked in and take it so seriously.

No not 87 73K, You can thank the 1980's for the high membership numbers for Essendon, Hawthorn and lesser a extent Carlton. The kids from then are members now along with their families.Does that mean the Blues have 87K or 73K ‘paid up’ Members. Hard to follow all these things.
