I'll be surprised if Fremantle trade the pick simply because a trio of Erasmus, Amiss and Johnson could be the catalyst for finally breaking this premiership drought when you put them alongside Brayshaw, Darcy and Serong.

Darcy, Serong, Ryan, Young, Chapman, Brayshaw, Henry, Amiss, Erasmus + Johnson is a nice young core indeed.

It was the wing rankings that really took me aback. Our general defender rating did not shock me as when fit our back 6 is killing it, if we had Lake style KPD I would rate us as being a top 8 chance off the back of our defenders alone. The wings being second best in the league really stunned me though. Were they solely rating us on those games where Day was dashing up one wing and CJ the other?

I would have loved to see their reasoning for rating our wings that highly. Our wings plus our midfield group where why we struggled. Especially with transition out of defence. Our wings never connected with our defenders.

My guess is it includes Jiath, Impey, Day and Bramble.

They all intercept on the wing when we have the ball locked in 50, and often provide the overlapping run out of our defensive 50.

What would be great is if we keep 23 and trade 26 for a future 1st, orherwise keep the picks or try move into the 2nd round again maybe one of richmonds picks if there is still a good slider

Davo you don't seem to rate Motlop and Butler.
Is it them or the fact that they are small forwards?

its because in the games i have seen them play, they seem very average talents, i rate P.Curtis, T.Sonsie and J.Clarke ahead of them and they are considered small forwards.

Hey Davo-27 I've only watched the highlights of Goater and the bold is very kind to what I saw. Do you think we can actually fix his kicking under pressure? Cause the pressure only gets higher at the top level.

At the moment he is the only one I don't want us to pick.

he is a better kick than those clips show, the question mark i have on Goater is he wants to be a hbf because theres more space when counter attacking than backing himself in, being an explosive mid from the contest which is where his value is imo.

The Top 10 was nailed on the head by Cal and a few others.
A Few surprises in the 10-20 range, picks 14-17 defenders. It looks like a few coaching Groups are putting a big emphasis on Defence in today's footy.

This works out perfect for us having such a strong half back line..
Do we look to take full advantage and secure as many midfield gems as we can now ? and fill the void.

Wings was never really got sorted in '21 even though lots saw it as the big question of '21.

By sorted I mean Smith-Hill sorted

Maybe they mean we have the tools to do it, if we get Ward and Sonsie we certainly have

Maybe. But I doubt it. I’d expect all of them but Bramble to have been listed solely as general defenders. They intercept on a wing as we push up defensively but not as wingers.

Its the same reason why our general forwards are rated so high as we have Breust, Gunston and Wings. Though wings best footy is a midfielder he isn’t ranked against the mids.

I think we should go all mids with out 3 picks and then allow mids to rest in the fwd line such as wingard, worps and jom. Having the ability to runs heaps on guys through the midfield is key imo

So they're club rankings against all other sides? ....I mean, I know I rate our defence and I think our midfield performed shite, but those rankings are the makings of a side going places.

From memory it went really quick and was much better than the first night.

Hawks have 2 2nd rounders. Johnson, Sonsie, Goater in for the 2nd pick for us. All i had teens or top 10 or would of been. Roberts, Draper, Knevitt, Taylor, Clarke and so on all there aswell. Elite.

Why has Sonsie dropped so much?
Have heard Johnson attitude has been questioned?

I hope we take Zac Taylor with one of our picks.

Do you think Z Taylor will be best option? Do you think even better than Ward?
able to kick on both feet, high IQ, still developing, last game 30+ possessions, they say hurts you with every touch,
also when fwd can be dangerous. I am surprised the coach does not love him, as similar attributes to himself.

We are in good position that can be fussy, it feels like we are holding pick 12 & 15 with some of these names like Draper, Johnson, Roberts, Taylor, Sonsie.
I guess if we can find someone with defensive mindset, big possession person that can hurt opposition and flexible enough, then that would be great.

Thanks Davo-27. I really liked his explosiveness in the clips. If those errors are fewer than shown (he did say in an interview he was a better kick in general play) then I'll trust the team if we pick him.

I am presuming it was league based because I think our midfield was ranked 17th.

Does anyone spring to mind? I think Draper, Taylor, Butler may exhibit those hybrid properties with class. We only have 2 picks left though. Also Sonsie, although question marks on him.
