Wonder how one sided the trade was for Melbourne to have the pick swap knocked back by the AFL.

Ridiculous it can be knocked back. End of the day picks and players are only worth what someone is willing to pay.

It feels strange to have not picked up Bazzo to team up with DGB. It is interesting, gone with pure midfielders, still have our core midfielders with 2-3 to already wanting to break through.

Our midfield is terrible. We picked 2 pure mids and a fast mid/forward who applies pressure. I'd have liked a bit of x factor or midfield size but we have targeted the areas we needed to target. Happy with the haul. Seem to have recruited heavily on character and work ethic too, which might be a sign of Mitchell's influence.

Cannot believe that, I thought we would have taken him ahead of Butler, I thought he was top 12 or 15 like Johnson for so long.

Melbourne don't have a future first, maybe they tried to trade out of the next 2nd, 3rd or 4th rounds?

For some reason I'm not as excited as some of you with our haul ! Love the ward pick but not sure about the other two. Not saying they are poor choices , I just thought we'd go a different prospect and believe me I HOPE I'm completely wrong!

ZaC Taylor was one sonsie or Howe's the other.

We cannot have them all. I thought all of Ward, MacDonald, Butler were talked about in this forum, no real surprise. Perhaps we or other clubs did not see this coming, that is how even the talent. To have got more talent in, need to swap pick 5 for multiple picks later on if wanted extra 2-3 players like Draper, Sonsie, Taylor, Bazzo. Still got to be happy, Ward has the runs on the board, been talked up top 5-7 players for last few months.
