It’s a good read though. Shows just how many clubs were trying to move up, but that most clubs wanted to keep their spots.

I think this draft might be looked back on as a really good one in a few years, and it’s clear that the clubs already thought as much.

Yep. It’s not just the Freo pick but in total there wasn’t many picks traded at all. Totally agree that most clubs could see the strength in this draft.

I love that he sees himself as an inside midfielder that can hit the scoreboard, more so than a forward.

Drafted as a defender but moved into the midfield and showed a bit of promise and got promoted to the senior list. And then got delisted after not doing much else. We all got excited at the time because our midfield was generally on the small side at the time.

I must say after listening numerous times to the new listed kids.I hope I am not just getting caught up in the rebuild? But I cannot remember being as impressed with the quality of young men we have drafted and recruited.They all seem from the snap shot I have viewed to be really nice young men!
I am eagerly awaiting to see how there careers go forward!

I must say after listening numerous times to the new listed kids.I hope I am not just getting caught up in the rebuild? But I cannot remember being as impressed with the quality of young men we have drafted and recruited.They all seem from the snap shot I have viewed to be really nice young men!
I am eagerly awaiting to see how there careers go forward!

It definitely is ringing true about what the club said for bringing in boys with good character. By the looks of it, not just well mannered but also hard working. This has to be the reason we overlooked Sonsie as he undoubtedly has the talent

Agree. I don't know whether its the effect of the rebuild optimism, but they all seem bloody impressive.

They all remind me slightly of Cunnington, came into the afl with elite standard and prep from day 1, hopefully turn out the same

The optimism around this years crop isn’t just based on the 5 kids we picked up. It’s also coming from the kids we picked in the previous two drafts, players that have gone up another level and showed signs that they are AFL worthy (Moore, CJ, Scrimshaw, Reeves, Kosi, Nash, Lewis) plus free hits in Bramble and Newk. We’ve quickly found a significant group of quality youngsters that have still got a lot of improvement left in them yet.
