Let’s stick with a basic rule for this thread, that it’s for draft watch and discussion only.

It’s not for trade hypotheticals, who you think needs to be delisted or traded, how many games you think we will win, some other team will win, how many picks you want in the 1st round or discussion of current HFC players.

It’s about youngsters who are eligible for the draft in 2021.

Key dates to look out for:
  • NAB AFL Draft Combine: TBC
  • NAB AFL Draft: Wednesday November 24 - Thursday November 25
  • NAB AFL Pre-season and Rookie Drafts: Friday November 26

My prediction (minus Daicos and Darcy because let’s face it who gives a sheit about these two):

JHF (given), Andrews (GWS have enough mids and need a tall with X-factor), Gibcus (GC need a quality KPD and there is no go home factor with this kid), Rachelle (Crows have this guy on its radar why meet with him multiple times) and we then get Finn. It’ll happen!
Matey: Your thinking is very logical and I sincerely hope this is what will happen. Will be my dream come true also.

Sinn's already put on 6kg. I think I'm taking him.
Add to the 13 kg he gained in lockdown. 19 extra kg is going to have a fair effect on the way he plays. Lots of extra weight and a hamstring makes me think his running ability might go down. If he loses his top line speed I feel he is a fair bit below the other prospects.

The clear standout two that fit our needs perfectly are JHF and Callaghan, but they will definitely be taken prior.

Still, that leaves several interesting prospects that will be available to us.

I think i've landed on this as my order of preference (not including JHF, Darcy and Daicos who are absolutely no chance of being at Hawthorn).

1. Callaghan (but won't happen)
2. Ward
3. Rachelle
4. Andrew
5. Hobbs
6. Erasmus
7. Johnson
8. Sinn
9. Goater
10. Taylor

So yeah, it will be a bitter pill to swallow if we select Gibcus.

Taylor could easily slide deep into the second round. Butler a better prospect for mine

I Like Gibcus as adding another talented defender would be good for the club but agree our most glaring weakness is our midfield so hope we go for a mid with our first pick. I am warming a little to Rachelle but he seems more a forward than a midfielder, not that we couldn't use another small forward as we lack there to a degree also not to the extend of the midfield.

Taylor better by foot.
Correct. IMO he is still a bit of a tweener. Doesn't project for me as a FT mid and potentially doesn't have the explosiveness to play full-time forward. I think Butler's athletic profile projects him as a legitimate ball-winning mid with a strong defensive side.

Hi All,
The AFL uses information for monetisation by selling it to news outlets instead of giving it to us avid draft watchers. So be it... but we have a recourse: group information

I have been trying to find combine results and general information for our possible draftees and have come up with the following table.

It is a long way from complete. If you can add to it please tell me and I’ll update the table. new players accepted. Every idea accepted.

There are many spaces in this table. Please help.

Key
- DNT = Did Not Test
- WIBNI = Was Invited But No Info
- () = uncertain of info

I could have done more but I got tired.
I hope, with the knowledge of the many, we will see a clear picture of the stats.
Thanks for the detailed info :)

I was hot on this kid all year, but I don't think we have a pick where he's most likely going to land in the late 20's early 30's.

Still love this kid and think he should be in our mix at 24. Apparently, Carlton are into him big time at 25

Reminds me of a cross between Caleb Daniel and Zach Merrett. I'm high on him. Ball magnet and uses it well.

Everyone wants him. 191cm that can move like the wind, with class skills - now that's rare
Vic clubs will be lining up to get him back here in 2 years if he heads to the Giants.
