No they can't as they don't have the No 1 pick, hence no 20k bonus

The first pick in each state gets some kind of reward from NAB, is it less? I remember them doing things with Charlton and Evans on the telecast and thought they got something extra.

Come on, you've got Georgia Patrikios & Tyanna Smith, they're 2 really big wins for the Saints in the last 2 drafts
don't get greedy

They can play inside but would be much better using their skills on the outside. Need a big bodied mid to get the ball to them

You've got Nicola Xenos (ACL) and Liv Vesely (calf), who both missed the entire 2021 season coming back, how many more mids do you need?
Surely a KPP like Slender or Friend who can run thru the midfield, would suit your needs more

True. I wasn’t sure what our injury list looked like. Don’t want to rely on players who missed almost the entire season though

I'm no mathematician, but I believe $5K is less than $20K. Clearly I had it wrong. Either they changed things or, more likely, I'm getting mixed up with the Rising Star. It seems less likely that Rowbottom would go to QLD for that amount, especially if she might get it anyway from Geelong.

Yeah i thought so too, but it's the Rising Star that gets 20K
Only thing i can think off as to why Rowbottom nominates QLD is if her parents are thinking of moving there

Regardless, if GC end up with Rowbottom as well as Levi, they could draft two armchairs with their other picks and they're still walking away big winners from the draft.

Imagine if what we've been theorising with Pauga comes true as well, thats a handy first 3 picks

Fair enough. Either way, I can't see Pauga not heading to Gold Coast. Why else would she play an entire season for Bond Uni when she's from Maroochydore.

But with the draft region still in effect, Gold Coast may struggle to get the most out of Bond Uni and Coolangatta Tweed.

Lily Tarlington's might be a good tall option, Lucinda Pullar would be a shoo-in to be signed before the draft. Then there's Courtney Sexton, Eloise O'Brien, for crumbers, and Georgia Brehmer, with Shannon Dankheart for mids. But they're still developing, and the list at Bond goes thinner from there. The only option I'd look at from Coolangatta would be Leigh Alder.

Gold Coast will have to look at NT. Grace Mulvahil, Ashanti Bush, the incredibly overlooked repeatedly Freda Puruntatameri, and Bella Clake. If Gold Coast was ever going to draft solid Territorian talent, they better do it this coming draft.

From my experience a young person, such as Rowbottom, may be happy to move for lifestyle, work or study reasons amongst other things outside of the sporting/AFLW reasons or their parents moving interstate.

I do hope Gold Coast get her. Would be nice as they have only the Queensland pool to pull from generally. The Vic talent pool has enough talent in it and Geelong will be happy with Prespakis anyway.

Yeah will do at some stage soon, hopefully we get an article at some point tonight or tomorrow to confirm any eyebrow raising zone nominations like a Rowbottom to Queensland or Pauga nominating whole state rather than Lions Academy so there's a bit more clarity, whether Campbell nominates for Dees or Dogs will also be another point of interest
