Had to confirm the Tasmanians via Perri King, was really surprised there weren't more considering how impressive they've been.

Plenty of talent to choose from in the S.A. team. Crows will be rubbing their hands together come draft day.
Some of the ones that miss out would be higher end selections in other pools, so there'll be some good ones available post draft

WA with a nice even spread of contributors, although Rowley was clearly a step above, with Roberts impressing as well. Allies were carried by Cynthia Hamilton in the midfield and Jess Doyle as a wing/ forward.

Disappointed that Amy Franklin was playing backline and didn't get a massive opportunity to highlight those athletic traits I've been told about, obviously earlier I predicted Eagles would take Rowley and got told on needs Franklin made more sense, so wanted to see that today and of course couldn't. Speaking of Rowley, wow, she's super good (almost like Pie 4 Life was onto something) just really smooth through traffic and out in space, where she's got good speed as well, I still think I'd be taking her if I were the Eagles given they're a long term project and there's some good WA talls for next years draft. Roberts being one of them of course, but Lauren Wakfer was also really impressive in the ruck and defence.

Allies definitely played like a team that haven't been with each other a whole heap, but the work of Jessice Doyle and Cynthia Hamilton was so impressive, and probably th main reason that Allies appeared to be in the game the whole time despite the scoreboard, Ransom was also good in the midfield, just not as consistent

Is there any footage of the games. Of course I couldn't watch the live streams, so it would be nice to see some replays.

I'm worried she won't play next game after that head knock considering the recent concussion, and looked pretty upset post-game too.
Damn I missed that - was at work watching so didn’t see 100% of the game

Yeah came off late after a tackle, was able to come off herself with a trainer jogging beside her, but then post-game leaving the ground genuinely looked upset. We'll be chatting to her and other WA players today so probably can see how she's going.

So was she. She hates it down there
We still saw her highlight her game sense and strength which was good, and her ball use was head and shoulders above other WA KPDs so there's that

Do you mean Roberts? I saw Roberts looking pissed, seemed to get roughed up in the second half, but not Franklin. Maybe I missed it...

I don't get why they're playing Franklin there either. They do it in the WAFL too, she touches the ball 5 times a game, kicks three goals but could do heaps more. With her agility she should be getting up the ground more, sticking her deep at either end seems a terrible way to develop young talent. I think she could show more at AFLW level than below, because she'll finally have a coach who knows how to get the most from her.

Rowley was super good. If I'm the Eagles, I still want Charlie Thomas with pick two after Franklin, but she's apparently still injured, hasn't played in the WAFLW lately either. So probably Freo will take Rowley with their first, which would let the Eagles get Thomas too, if they like her enough (I've only seen her play a couple of WAFLW games, but her skills looked similar to Rowley's, only she's 175cm). But Rowley would be perfect for Freo, they seemed to lack that cool-headed ball user in the second half of this season, they've got lots of mad dashers like Miller and Cain, but could use a little more brains and precision.

Lackay looks super impressive in contests, but I wonder if she'll have the wheels for AFLW. Ditto Beth Schilling, who has a terrific set of hands. But the one who really jumped out at me was Wakfer, she looks agile enough to play anywhere, and at least as good as Lackay in the ruck despite being much slimmer. She's only in the draft next year though. If Freo finally get Aine Tighe going in the ruck, along with Mim Strom, they might not take Wakfer with their first pick, so the Eagles could get both her and Roberts (assuming of course Freo finishes above West Coast next season, which is almost certain despite WC's improvement).

Amy tells me broken arm if I remember correctly (she was down at training last week)

We spoke to them today. Franklin confirmed she copped a whack on the nose which is why she was a bit upset at the end (post-game), that was off camera. Thomas is still injured, was in a wrist brace. Said she’s recovering but enjoying doing the running water and spending time with the team.

Franklin said she defs preferred forward (but obviously wasn’t going to say she hated backline haha), while Rowley said she enjoys playing in multiple positions but has enjoyed the change into the inside midfield at the champs.
