Notice of the 2021 AGM came up a while ago but I can't find the thread so I guess no one made one? šŸ¤·ā€ā™€ļø

Two of the directors, Paul Brasher (president) and Melissa Green are up for re-election, but no one nominated to run against them by the cut off last Wednesday so they'll be declared re-elected unopposed at the AGM as well:

never really thought they would be a vote for those 2 spots. Only ever comes up when there is significant issues with the club and/or football department (as you can see at collingwood and hawthorn).

Some good questions coming through.

MCG deal ends 2023, Marvel deal ends 2024. Looking at changing the home game split from 4-7 favouring Marvel to something more like 5-6 games at the MCG.

3 Indigenous players on the list (Walla, Eyre, Brand) but we have pathways in place to increase this. Pathways also in place for First Nations women in the AFLW and VFLW as well.

Question about pokies: Can't really sell them as new owners would still run them, they would still exist. New owners unlikely to have more probity than us (probity definitely the President's own words...). Therefore not selling them.

Watson being internally recognised as a Brownlow Medallist because "histories are plural"? hehehehe no. It's not for us to do that, it's the AFL's role to decide Brownlows, but he is important and respected at the club etc etc.

I forget the other questions...

Watson question was cheeky.
Pokies answer makes sense and happy to hear that there standard is high (I hope they are right)

Logo will revert to the old logo (no surprise given the logos used at the expansion), no plans for a refresh

Will be 150 celebrations across the country

Only offer we had that would've allowed us to gain a second round pick in 2021 would've been to trade back with our first rounder. We tried offering all sorts of other things to get a second rounder, but that was the only thing anyone was interested in and by the time we got to the point of being offered that, we wanted Hobbs. So spake Mahoney

Injury concerns, relatively healthy. Only 1 off-season surgery. Some little niggles along the way after starting the preseason early, but should have all bar 1 or 2 in training by January.

No questions yet for Charlotte Miller as head of our women's program. They did say they'd interviewed 10-15 women coaches in the middle of last year but won't make any appointments until the AFLW season is over as many of them are involved in other AFLW programs atm.

We had a group of girls from the Tiwis down last year then the VFLW season got cancelled and borders have been closed so it's been difficult in that space, but we are still trying now that the borders are relaxing.

Hurls a bit ahead of schedule, had to wait for another surgery after the infection cleared but that's done now and he's into his rehab and doing some work in some different departments including the coaching and wellbeing departments. Physically progressing well, due to start running shortly if not already.
