As I said to someone earlier, haven't watched soccer in over 10 years. Seems a weird thing to change but then again would have zero impact as they all do the same thing.Not anymore. the law was changed so that kick off team play the ball backwards without moving forwards
Notice a single player puts the ball in motion at kick off rather than two players

What a try.
I never knew that was the rule until we played interschool soccer one year. Same as your feet have to point where you throw on a throw in. For a bunch of Aussie rules kids, I thought the ref was a bit harsh on the throw in rule against us hahayep whether the ball goes forwards or back at kick off is inconsequential
